"Stay in your ray."
Chiara Lubich says that God's love is like a ray of light focused on each one of us, like a spotlight focused on the actor on stage. Outside this light is darkness. God's love is also his will or special plan for us, the unique role He gave us to play on earth. All we have to do is to stay in our individual rays.
Lord, your will is really that simple. It is
I who have made it complicated, by wishing to play roles other than the
one you gave me. Let me be faithful to the minutest detail to your design
for me. Every moment of my existence makes up this design. To live fully
each moment as it comes is the secret of a reflective life, making me
distinct from the animals, the plants and the stars.
