“There are those who want to eat but have no food; there are those who have food but cannot eat.”

- Cardinal Sin

This is just one of the many ironies of life. Those who want to have children are often unable to bear any, while the mother of many, without wanting, still bears children. Is life really that imperfect? A lot of mismatched couples, married people who wish they were single, and single people who wish they were married. It is not just a question of the other pasture always looking much greener than one's own.

Lord, teach me to accept the ironies of life and draw meaning from them. I should be thankful for every moment that comes because each new moment is a gift. I thank you for the basic things, the food, the shirt on my back, the roof over my head.
