Tenative Miscellanious ramblings..... And.... Airplanes we fly.... (Mostly Bombers and Ground Attack craft in the Territorial Combat rooms...We love racking up the AI points!) *Flt97_Halfpole prefers the Japanese Peggy, the German Ju-88, and the Russian Tu-2 for bombing. Halfpole's not much into fighter combat, so if you see him in a single engine aircraft, you can bet he's still got blowing up factories or tanks on his mind. *Flt97_Wolfpole will fly whatever he can get his hands on and still live. He's usually in a Rata (Ishak) or a Zero. He did well last time he took the Tu-2 out for a spin. We know he'll do good once he's graduated from flight academy. If you hear someone from our Flight 'singing,' in the game rooms, it's probably Wolfpole. *Feistymeisty prefers anything German, especially the Ju-88, the Ju-87, and the Me109K, but he's currently unable to fly due to combat injuries. We still let him load the bombs onto our planes. Playing with the explosives gives feistymeisty great satisfaction, especially when we let him write nasty taunting notes to the enemy on the bombs. It's part of his rehabilitaion therapy. Hopefully he'll be able to join us in the skies soon.....He hopes they'll have Me262's in the game by then. :-) *Steffenmeister is our new ground crew assistant to feistymeisty. When he gets a computer, we might enroll him in Flight School. *Flt97Quartrpole enjoys flying the La-7 for dogfighting, and the Ju-87 "Stuka" for tankbusting. On bombing runs, he prefers the Ju-88 and the Tu-2, and has been known to experiment with Val divebombers. He also enjoys plastering airstrips with a Lancaster, but won't fly it anymore.
Flight 97 prefers to help even out the odds a litte bit, so you'll rarely see us flying US, and almost never GB. Too many already fly only those nationalites, and we think that serves to unbalance the game and make it not as fun as it could be! Think of it...How fun is it for 8000 guys to gang up and beat the snot out of four or five men? Not very sporting. So we take whatever opportunity arises to even the odds. We find high explosives to be the most effective way for our small unit to do this....Besides, if we can fly some of the less popular countries and do well, maybe we can convince others to try out the German, Japanese, and Russian aircraft as well. Now if FA would only include Italy, Poland, and Romania in their mix of aircraft nationalities, Halfpole would REALLY be happy! The Polish PZL 37b was one of the best medium bombers of the early war--it just never really got a chance to prove itself.... |

Disclaimer: It should go without saying, but no member of Flight 97 approves of the horrid attorcities perpetuated by either the Nazi German, Imperial Japanese, or Communist Russian governments during WWII. We just play a game where we 'virtually' fly certain aircraft. Please don't take anything on this site TOO seriously! |
