Campaigning is helping or fighting for a cause. Whether it be banning the fur trade or asking for harsher punishments for people who are cruel to animals.

I cannot single handedly solve any problem that arise, but I can make a
significant difference. My signature on a petition, collecting other signatures for petitions, writing letters of complaint to relevant authorities and information sources, asking questions... all make a difference.

When I start to campaign, I gather as much information as I can by visiting websites, finding all the other campaigns and collecting a list of useful addresses. Next, I write letters to the people involved. My letters are
always polite. People will not respond to threats and/or bullying tactics. If you are polite, it is likely that you will get a response. I will be adding some templates for basic letters to the site in order for you to write your own letters. Sometimes it is hard to know what to say or where to begin.

If you are a UK resident, writing to your local MP is a way to make a difference. Your MP has a seat in Parliament and therefore can express his/her areas views on certain issues and policy's. Expressing yours can give you and your cause a voice. I have written to my MP with regards to Fox Hunting and the Ivory Trade. I have had a reply each time I have sent a letter to her.

URGENT CAMPAIGN NEWS
Updated November 2005
As you will have seen in the news lately there has been an outbreak of Avian Flu or Bid Flu as it is widely known.  Certain Asian countries have been culling their birds in ways that cannot be described as humane.  Please see the WSPA dossier [click on the red link below] for more detailed information.

WSPA have given me the address below in which to write to complaining about the harsh treatment and inhumane culling of the birds in Asia. Please write a POLITE letter detailing your concern and contact me with any information you receive.

FIREWORKS

Another campaign I have recently been working on is fireworks.  There was a dispicible story in the National newspaper about poor Emmie the Yorkshire Terrier who was run over and then blown up by firework weilding yobs.  I am happy to say that a 19-year old has been arrested in connection with this.  Hoepfully the upcoming Animal Welfare Bill will ensure those involved will be punished.

Fireworks are loud and extremely traumatising for pets, they cause numerous animal related accidents each year.  I wrote to find out more about firework regulations and have today received a response, I will try and get this added to the site shortly.
NEW FEATURE!

I have started up a mailing list, it is an attempt to spread the word to a wider audience and get more help and support for animal related causes.
