How to renovate on
    a budget


 

No big projects have been done to this room yet other then painting the walls
and moved my furniture in.

Crown molding and wainscot are on the to do list.

**Update I have started the wainscot in the living room Check back for photos.

Cost:
         $500.00 for leather sofa
         Cost of paint for this room was split with the dining room, used the same color, 2 gallons of
         Sherwin Williams Softer Tan paint.
         $300.00 Bombe Chest        

Tools:
         Paint & Roller      

Action plan:
         Paint room & put my own furnishings in

Still To Do:
         Purchase and install flat screen tv on wall.
         Install wainscoting (same as what I put in the dining room) **Now in progress
         Install crown molding
         Purchase new chair & end table
         Build & install built in bookcase unit.
         Considering a new coffee table

Inspiration:
         I didn't really have any solid inspirations for this room.  I knew what color scheme I wanted, knew
         I wanted a flat screen tv. 

Process:
        As soon as I moved in I painted the walls and bought the leather sofa.  I never liked the tv cabinet
        I had so I eventually replaced it with the black bombe chest.  Purchased an uplight that I put behind
        the clock, it's very pretty when light at night.  Replaced the window blinds with scalloped roller shades.

Updates:
         I have started the wainscot in here, hope to have it finished soon!  Check back for more photos of the
         wainscot as I progress!

After I Panited the walls SW Softer Tan and moved my furniture in!

                  Latest purchase is the black bombe chest,
I plan on purchasing a flat screen tv and hanging it above the chest in the future.
