SS River Hunter - Official No.174727. 4,942t gross, 2,843t net, 8,601t deadweight.
Dimensions: 449ft 5ins x 56ft 8ins x 24ft 7ins.

Built by Cockatoo Docks & Engineering Co. Pty. Ltd. Sydney, this vessel was one of the "A" class built to Plan No. RH 1/2. It was ordered 19/06/1941, keel laid 29/07/1943, launched 18/10/1945 and completed /05/1946.

All accomodation was amidships.
The deck machinery consisted of 12 - 5 ton derricks and 1 - 20 ton heavy derrick. Also 13 - 8x12 inch steam winches, including warping winch.
The propulsion machinery - built by Mort's Dock & Engineering Co. Ltd., Sydney - was the triple expansion steam type with an exhaust turbine fitted. Steam was suplied by 2 B&W water tube boilers. Giving an average service speed of 12 knots.

Burns Philip & Co. Ltd. were appointed to manage the "River Hunter" until Oct.1947 when the Australian Shipping Board assumed the management. In Feb.1957 management was transferred to the Australian National Line.

In July 1959 the vessel was sold to Albert G.Simms Ltd., Australia, and registered in Hong Kong. Later it was transferred to Hang Fung Shipping and Trading Co. Ltd., Hong Kong. In Sept.1959 the vessel was again transferred to Wallem & Co. Ltd., Hong Kong.

The "River Hunter" was renamed "Sze Feng" in Nov.1959, and in Jun.1960 transferred to Hang Fung Shipping and Trading Co. Ltd., Hong Kong.

In Sept.1960 the "Sze Feng" arrived at Hong Kong for demolition by Shin Wing Hong (Shin Wing Co. Ltd.). In Oct.1960 demolition began.
