| September 25, 2005 I didn't sail today, but I completed a couple of tasks. I removed the old jam cleats in order to take them to the store and find replacements. I also had to forcibly remove the mast raising pole - somehow a non-stainless (or not stainless enough) bolt found its way onto the boat, I used it to attach the mast raising pole, and left it on the last time I used it. It rusted very badly. When I went out the last June, I decided to leave it there rather than fight it, but the jib sheets got tangled up in it while sailing (it was laying on the deck) so I decided to take it off before I went out again. I didn't even break the bolt, which surprised me. I just let some WD-40 soak on there for an hour and then I muscled it off. |
