What do you think? 

I appear each day
right on schedule
you think perhaps you
could set your watch by me

We exchange pleasantries,
"Hi, how are you?"
"It's too early to tell, 
I'll have to wait and see."

We tell each other of our lives and traditions,
I am amazed, enchanted. I live under such
protected conditions.

I would not survive some of the
experiences you take as everyday
I am soft, unskilled and would
make such easy prey.

I laugh to myself,
you seem to think I am worldly
I really hate to tell you, I am just a little squirrelly

I find you fascinating..my life ..so plain
At times very dull, I don't mean to complain

I wonder would anyone notice
if I disappeared
I don't have the courage to test,
but this is what i have feared

How hard would you strive
to check and discover,
Am I alive? On vacation?
Or just undercover...
