1906 Born in New York City in December.

1928 Graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Vassar College Fellowship.

1930 Earned her Masters Degree in Math and Physics at Yale.

1934 Earned her PhD in Math and Physics at Yale and received Sigma Xi honor.

1941 Joined Vassar as a professor in Physics and Math.

1943 Joined the Naval Reserves, became Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Barnard College.

1946 Returned to (inactive) duty, joined Harvard's Computation Laboratory and received a Naval Ordnance Development Award.

1949 Joined Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corp as a senior mathematician.

1967 Called again to (active) duty, worked as Staff Scientist, Systems Programming, and UNIVAC Division of Sperry Corporation.

1971 Retired from active duty in the Navy.

1972 Called to come out of retirement by the Navy, became Honorary Doctor of Engineering, as well as attending Newark College of Engineering, also received a Wilbur Lucius Cross Medal, and was at Yale University at the time.

1983 Appointed to Commodore and received 5 Honorary Doctorates.

1985 Appointed to Rear Admiral and received 7 more Honorary Doctorates.

1986 Second and final retirement from the Navy, jumped right a consultant spot for Digital Equipment Corp (DEC), and was awarded the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, Meritorious Citation, Navy Relief Society and another 4 Honorary Doctorates during this great year.

1992 Died January 1, New Years Day while sleeping at her home in Arlington, Virginia.
