| Dating, game playing, dodging bullets, the casual romp, etc, don't interest us. It is possible for adults to cultivate and nurture caring, polyfidelitous, triad based relationships. I won't claim that it is easy, it isn't. A triad formulation requires all parties connected to be "grown up" If inmaturity, ego, selfishness, etc are allowed to run the show, guess what happens? The same thing that happens in a dyad based relationship, it goes KABOOM!. Successful relationships require: Seriousness. Openess Honesty Egolessness (or at least knowledge of one's ego) Belief that Love, really is the grease of the universe Tough skin Dedication to the concept of familly the ability to LOVE. True that the triad isn't for every one, it isn't even for most. But there are many famillies living the reality of the polyamory every single day, and on every continent.
