| The Great Depression era. It was a time of corruption, a time of despair, when many good honest folks turned bad to put food on the table. Many people lost everything, their homes, their life savings and their pride. Many large families were living in tents with very little or no food to provide for their children. One third of the nation was unemployed and the economy was very unstable. Criminals arose out of the woodwork over night. Banks were being robbed at an alarming rate. |
