My CDRW/DVDR combo was automatically detected. I did not have to do much for its normal functioning. However, I found that it is not possible to write a cd iso image as a user. If I log in as root, everything works perfect. But if I log in as a user, I can not see the option for writing the cd iso image in my k3b. I think it is a problem with the permissions and I am working on it.
