1363 - The Year of the Wyvern

    All four of us go on several adventures within four years. Sinlon disappears later and me, Ranger and Jinol couldn't seem to find him. I assumed that the guild found him. So we decided to check it out.
     We traveled to Calimport, on our way, we met up with an unusual person. The person's name is Thorlan. What makes him unusual is that he's a kenku, a half man and half bird (typically a hawk).
     As we continue to Calimport, we meet up with a messenger, who gives Ranger a message. Ranger reads it and said "I have a mission to go on. I have to head back to Shadowdale."
     I said "We'll accompany you."
     Ranger said "No, you need to find Sinlon. I'll go alone."
     I said "Ok, I'll see you later."
     Ranger left to go back to Shadowdale. Me, Jinol, and Thorlan continues to Calimport. When we get there, we meet up with an old accuataince of mine. The man looked at me and said "Dilantik Kesintar, yes I still remember your name."
     Thorlan looked at me "Who is this?"
     I said "This is a zhentarium mage, named Kynlin."
     Kynlin bowed to Thorlan and Jinol. "At your service. I knew you'd end up here eventually, when Sinlon disappeared."
     Jinol said "Where is he?"
     Kynlin said "Honestly, I don't know. He changed into a wererat and escaped me. Something I didn't see coming. Luckily for me, you haven't found him yet."
     I said "What do you want with me?"
     Kynlin said "Just your head on a platter. You insulted me the last we met, so I decided to follow your progress and wait til the right time to strike."
     I pulled my silver long swords and said "Give it your best shot, mage."
     Thorlan pulled his scimitar.
     Kynlin said "My pleasure, harper."
     Jinol was chanting a spell.
     Kynlin raised his hands as a fireball flew towards me.
     I jumped out of the way of the fireball, and tumbled to my feet.
     Thorlan took to the skies.
     Jinol let loose a lightning bolt and it hit Kynlin square in the chest, but with no damage and the lightning came back at Jinol. Jinol couldn't dodge in time. "Ok, a spell turning device, let's see if it works on crossbows."
     I charged at Kynlin, slicing with my swords. I cut Kynlin in the right forearm.
     Kynlin backed up, holding his arm. "Ooo, nice shot. Now it's my turn."
     I twisted to behind Kynlin, swinging again. This time hitting air. Kynlin had teleported a few feet away.
     Jinol struck Kynlin in the leg with a crossbow bolt.
     Kynlin threw a lightning bolt at Jinol. It threw him back and knocked him out. Kynlin then pulled out a quarterstaff, and charged at me.
     I rolled from Kynlin's attack, but not fast enough. I was hit in the back.
     At this time, Kynlin had forgotten about Thorlan.
     Thorlan flew down and grabbed Kynlin by the shoulders with his feet, and picked him up off the ground. He dropped Kynlin to the ground, hard. This gave me enough time to get up.
     Kynlin stood up and casted another spell at Thorlan. Thorlan stopped in mid-air, and fell to the ground. Kynlin retrieved his staff and went to attack me again, but I positioned my swords like scissors, and cut Kynlin's quarterstaff in half. Kynlin threw the half he was holding to the ground. Kynlin said "That's it." Kynlin threw a lightning bolt at me.
     The only thing I could think of doing, was to use my swords to block. The lightning hit my swords and the electricity went through the swords and through my body. I fell to the ground.
     Kynlin said "I'm not going to kill you today. I think I'll let you get a little more experience."
     I said "That... might... be... a... bad... idea."
     Kynlin said "We'll see, but I promise you, we will meet again, harper."
     I said "Any... time... mage."
     Kynlin stood up and casted one last spell, and he disappeared. I heard "Til we meet again."
