Home, home is where you put your big guns.
This part of the design stage is all about make that 500kg hunk of metal surrounding
you feel good.i'll admit that hydraulics may not be the best for simulating the torque and
lightness (read speed)of human tissue but that is another issue to make
500kg feel like it's not there it's all about center of gravity and lengths of legs and arms. if your legs were five
inches longer in the knee to ankle area it take you a while to get used to it but after a while it'd be fine no hassle
but i don't want pilot's to have to go throught that every time they jump into the LandMate obvisoly the suit has to
be bigger then the pilot so then lets go for twice as big as the human pilot say if the guy is 6 foot then the suit has
to be 12 foot tall. Legs arms and spinal cord all have to be twice the length of the pilot's bits small variations can be
lived with if you use the same suit always but that still leaves us with having to have large medium and small sized suits.
the head must have two camera for eyes(for depth perception) and the pilots helmet will have two small screens built in
(handy as a failsafe feature as well) this head must be twice the distance of the pilots head from his pelvis. All measurements are to be taken from the pelvis because this is the area wich does not move twice as fast as everthing else and the whole suit is built around this area anyway. taking the fact that the legs are twice as long the overall speed of the suit will be twice as fast as the human wearing it which in a charge will be quite fast enough for battle. |
