The All American Man is one of the best known shield bearing warriors around, and has been one of the most intensively studied anthropomorphs in Utah Fish Creek Cove, in southern Utah, has one of the earliest recorded shield bearing warriors from the state of Utah. The Ruppenthal Panel in central Kansas contains some of the easternmost shield bearing warrior figures and Plains biographical style rock art Tim Urbaniak's Project on Digital Image Technology and Rock Art Research includes several photographs of important Wyoming and Montana shield figures which have been digitally retouched to make them easier to view.
