The following photos were taken in a community where PISTA has just finished a water system

The first photo shows the spring water tank. This is the tank built around the water source , which in this case, is an underground river, some 3.5 kilometers above the community tank

This photo shows the piping used to carry the water down the hill. The pipe needs to be buried 60 cm below the ground, which required the digging of a trench of that depth, for a distance of 3.5 kilometers, through swamp, jungle, and forest. While we were helping dig the trench, one of our team counted a record 18 ticks on his back at the end of a days work!
