11/6/04 - One, After getting the Anime DVD out and watching it over and over and over again, I edited the info and scenes to make them more... specific if you will.

Why Kumi/Yuri?
------------------------------------------------------
Well, there's actually so many hints in both the anime and the manga. While it seems like Kumi does get sometimes annoyed by Yuri's childish and scared behavior, there's something about the little girl that still keeps her around. While in the anime they occasionally blush and stammer around each other, in the manga Kumi likes to come up and hug Yuri sometimes. Cute ^-^. You can't help but think that these two have even a slight thing for each other. Though at first you can tell that Kumi really doesn't appreciate Yuri's company (Cause well, Kumi gets kinda angry at Yuri hiding behind everyone and asking her for help), she later becomes worried for the young girl and becomes a lot friendlier.
One nice moment would happen to be a scene after Kumi becomes angry at Yuri and yells at her, making Yuri cry. In this scene, Kumi shows up at Yuri's place on her birthday, holding a present, wondering if she should go or not. After Kasumi and Miyu come by, she decides she wants to go back. After a bit of "persuasion" (Which is actually Kasumi tugging on Kumi and going "Nya! Nyaaa!" XD), Kumi finally goes up with Miyu and Kasumi.
Yuri: *answers the door, seeing Miyu and Kasumi there* ... *looks behind the two of them, seeing Kumi like WAY behind them* K.. Kawamura-san...
Kumi: H-Hello... H-Happy birthday. *holds up present* T-This is for you...
And then, well, Yuri starts crying out of happiness. XD
There's also a really cute moment whenever at some troubling point in the anime, Kumi comes up behind Yuri and hugs her, whispering to her something about how she and her friends will always be there for Yuri. Awww =3

"Unrequited"?

Lots of people don't get why I called the fanlisting "Unequited", so here.

(ONCE AGAIN: Spoilers for the anime ending ahead =O I'M TRYING TO GET YOUR ATTENTION HERE OKAY)
UNREQUITED: adj : not returned in kind; "unrequited (unanswered) love"
Many (of the few that are out there) fans of Kumi/Yuri saw the hinting of their possible love in the first three episodes of this 4-episode long OVA. We all hoped by the end of the series that ONE of them would confess their affection or something.
But our hopes were cut short by the sudden surprise at the end of the anime: Kumi died.
And we were even MORE upset by the fact that the creator went and ended the anime right at the scene where Kumi's lifeless body is shown lying in her own blood, and then a scene where Yuri starts to bawl uncontrollably. So we were left with the burning question: How did Kumi die? People say that the anime follows the manga, which in this case Kumi wouldn't be dead for long at all, seeing as when this exact thing happened in the manga, her teachers revived her. But then again some also say that Kumi killed herself because of the fact that the Yellow Knife's powers to make people's fears come true made her realize she was alone in this world-- and that there wasn't anything to live for anymore.
However it happened, none of the few Kumi/Yuri fans got to see any declarations of shoujo-ai love anytime soon. We saw that they could form a possible relationship, but neither of them admitted it. Let's go back up to the meaning of Unrequited-- "unanswered love". Thus is why I gave the fanlisting its name.
