We had the insemination on Monday, January 15th, and all went well.  Rob actually got the sample to the lab on time, more or less, but due to traffic, was unable to get to the insemination at all.  He was so apologetic, so I made him take me out to lunch.  I told him that the most important part of him was there, so I was fine with it.  The actually process of an insemination isn't really a big deal to me, it's rather like a pap smear.  Although I prefer for him to be in the room when a conception occurs, it isn't manditory.  Actually, it will be a funny story if we were to get pregnant this cycle, so that's always a plus.  I'm due to test Januray 29th, give or take a day or two.

Things are still progressing well with A. and the adoption.  She is currently 14 weeks, so well out of the first trimester, which is a nice milestone to be past.  We all know that there are no guarantees, but it feels good to be past the 12 weeks.  A.'s level II ultra sound is on February 15th, and she'll be about 19 weeks.  We are going to go with her to the appointment, and I suspect that it will all begin to feel more real at that point.  We are also going to meet with an attorney in a few weeks, to begin the paperwork, so that should also help.  As far as I know, all we can do at this point is have a verbal agreement, so although we all want this to happen, it still feels rather tentative.  All we can do is trust that it will happen, and work from there.  I've begun telling people about the adoption, and we are getting nothing but support, which is great.
