On December 2007 got the SAP PM certification. Currently he has just completed his first SAP R/3 Project System (PS) implementation using the make-to-order production of elevator model.

 

Rafael is a mechanical engineer. He worked for 15 years for PDVSA, the Venezuelan Oil Industry company (www.pdvsa.com) where he performed different roles as Non turnaround maintenance Field supervisor, Maintenance work orders administrator and maintenance planner in the Amuay Refinery. Some of the activities he performed in the maintenance organization where: material, equipments and spare parts expediting. Loan, assignment and inventory control of hand tools and safety equipment for the Refinery personnel, maintenance expense budget formulation and Cost control. He supervised contracted activities and administrated an Information System (SIMPER) used for failure data technical history recording. (This system was used to identify rotary equipment to be repaired on turnaround activities, according to their MTBF, MTTR, etc. indicators). He made monthly reports for the non turnaround Maintenance Manager with information about measurement indicators, including work orders backlog, percentage of emergency work orders, highest maintenance cost equipments, maintenance repair expenses, unplanned shutdowns, training and safety indicators, spare parts and equipment purchase orders status, extraordinary maintenance activities status, etc.

 

As part of the SAP system implementation team in PDVSA, designed the Corporative Material Catalogue and implemented the Plant Maintenance PM module (3.0F version). His main responsibility was the loading of technical information coming from Legacies Systems (SAMANTA and MAXIMO systems) and new Equipments Data Sheets recording, functional location structure definitions, work centers, Maintenance task list and maintenance plans elaboration.

 

During the 4.6C Upgrade phase provided global support in the Business Process Procedures updating, performed Transactions Testing and Trained new PDVSA Gas & Bitor end users.
