Over far north near the end of the East sector that ran along the snow fields beside Icemon Sea. A group of heavily clothed Digimon make their way through the blizzard that strike the area. One wear of them was a Flamedramon without a blade on his mask “Come on you two! We need to get to the temple!” he called out to the other two slowly walking up to him shielding their faces from the ice-cold winds.
“We must turn back Dave! This is too much to take!” the left one shouted out to the Flamedramon that was just in front. Dave just barely heard him “It not much feather Mike! Come on Adam! We need to find the temple! It really important if we complete this task!” Dave shouted back to the Leomon named Mike and the Orgemon named Adam. “I might be a nuttier in the group BUT I know when we going to far with this stupid QUEST!!!” Adam bellowed at the top of his lungs.
Suddenly the sky lit up in a reddish gaze. Mike, Adam and Dave looked where the gaze was coming from, in seconds a large rock shot over them “METEOR!!!” Adam shouted. He ran passed Mike and Dave “What are you two waiting for!? Lets get out to that temple double time!!!” Adam shouted. Both looked at each other then ran after him towards the last location of the temple was, when Max told Dave eight years ago.
The large rock smashed into the snow. A bright flash came from behind the three. They didn’t bother to look back as they ran towards a arch way in the snow right in front of them. “There it is! Come on lets move it!” Dave said as he picked up speed. A large blast wave was coming up behind them at unknown speeds. They all jumped into the temple as the blast wave hit.
“AHHHHHH!!!!” Jason woke up and fell of the bed with a thump as he hit the floor. He turned around looking at the ceiling with a cold sweat on his face “Man… that was a scary dream…” Jason sat up rubbing his head. “I think I bent my horn…” Jason mumbled as he touched the little horn on his nose and felt it wasn’t bent. “Wonder if dad survived from that temple…” Jason paused and shuck his head “It was only a dream… I don’t know where dad…” Jason paused again. “Now I am talking to myself… jeezs I need to stop eating late night snacks…” Jason mumbled as he got up from the floor.
He looked towards the blue bed to see Matt still sleeping soundly. “I wish I could sleep that deep…” Jason sat up the bed rubbing his eyes and noticed a tray on top of the draws by his bed. He lifted the metal dome that was over something. As he did he have a whoosh of a nice smell of cooked breakfast? “They must take good care of their students and probably expect them to do the classes and not muck around…” Jason put the metal dome on the bed. “Can’t let a good meal go to waste” Jason picked up a folk and knife. He started to eat his cooked egg and bacon breakfast. “mmm this is good, now I know why there is a farm just outside Digital Academy” Jason thought as he ate his breakfast.
Jason just finished his breakfast when Matt woke up “Jason?” Matt rubbed his eyes “How come you got food?” Jason smiled and pointed to the draw beside Matt’s bed “What the?” Matt lift the dome up and a cooked breakfast was there with his name on it so to speak “Whoa! Cool!” Matt grabbed a folk special made for Agumons to hold. Jason picked up a cup and drunk it “Nice hot Digimon tea for a wake up start” Jason was so caught up by having a nice breakfast and cup of Digimon tea that he forgot about the dream he had.
There was a musically tone from the speaker on the wall then announcement “Morning to all first years, this is Miss Damerish the head master, I will tell which group will be for the first lessons. Group 1, Building 4… Group 2, Building 2… and Group 3, Building 5… if you have any questions ask the teachers that will be taking your first lessons of the year, I hope you do well and good luck to all.” The announcement ends with a musically tone.
“You better eat quick Matt and see you at break time” Jason grabbed his backpack and went to the door “Jason you don’t need to carry that all over the place, you know?” Jason looked at Matt before leaving the room after opening the door “I like to keep my personal stuff close” Jason said as he exit the room and shut the door. Matt rushed to finish his meal. He got his glasses from the side and put them on. “I got mine, there my glasses” Matt said to no one as he went to the door and opened it. “Wonder what so personal inside the bag that Jason is carrying it all over the place” Matt thought loudly and left the room slamming the door shut.
Sanoku lent on a tree with his arms crossed just outside
Building 3. “Wonder if I see Jason… I
like to give him something for show, I will teach him not to mess with me, I
will be number one and no one will get that from me” Sanoku thought with a smirk taking his jacket off and dusting the dirt
off it “Damn all this dirt, it going to ruin my jacket…” Sanoku mumbled in
anger as he put it back on “There, nice and clear the way I like it” Sanoku
smiled and lent back on the tree waiting for Jason to come out the doors.
He saw the doors open and a Biyomon came out “Oh it only her… Yimmy Yako… might as well let that birdbrain go… I like to talk to that Veemon” Sanoku thought as he watch Yimmy walk by not bothering to say hi. “Hi Sanoku, it’s going to be a nice day and beautifully day. Sanoku snorted “Whatever…” Yimmy shuck here hand and sighed, she walked off down the path and disappeared at the cross path. “Stupid bird…” Sanoku mumbled and went back to staring at the door.
Jason came out the doors, instantly Sanoku studied him from where he
stood “Mmm, he looks like a good rival, but not going to be better then me
thou” Sanoku whispered as Jason came closer and walk passed “Hey you” Jason
stopped and looked at Sanoku “who me?” Jason point a finger at himself not sure
if Sanoku was talking to him. “Who else you idiot, you’re the only one standing
there” Sanoku sighed “I am Jason, nice to meet ya” Jason put his hand out to
Sanoku “After what I just he want
to make friends with me… what’s up with this guy?”
“I’m Sanoku…” Sanoku shuck Jason’s hand staring into Jason’s eyes as they shuck hands “I hope we can be friends” Jason gave a small smile. “Friends? He asking to be my friend… I never met anyone like him before…” Sanoku thought as he continued to stare at Jason after the finished the hand shake “We better get going, we will be late for class” Sanoku snapped out of staring at Jason’s eyes “There we better get going…” Sanoku said in a low tone and started to make his way down the path.
“I wonder if I could help him get out of that bully side? If I can he will make a step that I’ll be glad to be friends with” Jason thought as he caught up with Sanoku that was just a bit ahead.
“How about you stop following me… I am a loner… so leave me alone” Sanoku turned around and glared a Jason “Ok… sorry…” Jason stepped back a bit too much and fell into the bushes. Sanoku snorted and left down the woodland path to Building 2. Jason got out the bushes and looked at Sanoku disappear from view “His going to be a tough nut to crack…” Jason mumbled and went down the same path to Building 2.
Matt left Building 3 from the other side of the building. The path lend to Building 4 in a straight path from Building 3. “Your Matt right? I heard you’re the brainy one” a female voice came up from the bushes, when she stepped out Matt saw a female Agumon blushed a bit and looked away “Yeah… yeah that me… what… what your name?” Matt turns and faced her after his blush left. “I am Yamer Tamashi, nice to meet ya, I never met a Agumon like you that smart. Most usually do training to try and go to champion or ultimate levels” Yamer walked up to him and put her 3 clawed talon out to him. “Err… what about you?” Matt said and put his 3 claw hands over his month. “I see you think you said that wrong, but it’s alright. I like the way I am, my mum and dad are still rookie levels” Matt removed his clawed hands from over his month and gave a toothed smile.
“We in the same class, right?” Yamer nodded in reply and
said “How about I race you to Building 4, it’ll be fun to have a challenge with
another of my own kind” Matt gazed in amazement “She so nice and friendly and cute… whoa, whoa time out… I don’t even
know her that well… can’t get a head on myself…” Matt shuck his head and said “Yeah why not”
“Alright, get set
GO!” Yamer ran and Matt ran a second later trying to catch up with her since
she did a head start on him.
“I wonder what he thinks of me… many like that jerk Veemon with the jacket is so mean…” Yamer thought as she raced down the path between Building 3 and 4. Suddenly the ground shuck and Yamer fell over. Matt stopped “Quick under the tree” Matt helped her up quickly and took her to a tree. They sat under a large tree holding tight to Yamer and Yamer doing the same as the ground shuck. As the quake died down and very thing was ok Yamer stared at Matt and jumped up to her feet. “Sorry… I didn’t mean to… do… something like that…” Matt was shocked as Yamer was “Lets err… forget this ever happening…” Matt got up and found they were just outside Building 4.
“At least we got here on time” Yamer said and entered through the doors “Wonder what caused that earthquake…” Matt looked at the spot where he and Yamer was as the quake was happening “I hope nothing like that happen again… I feel like a total idiot holding her like that…” Matt sighed and walked into the building.
Jason came up to the building after recovering from the quake. He noticed a sign on the wall of the building beside the doors that lend inside the building. He went up to the sign “What!?” Jason stared at the sign in disbelief. “Science and technology department! I want to train not do science or technology crap!” Jason moaned and walking in not liking the idea of listening to a teacher talk, talk and talk.
The thought made him yawn. He came up to a classroom and took a quick look. He sighed when he saw Sanoku in it “This must be the classroom…” Jason thought as he entered. To his surprise the teacher wasn’t in the classroom yet.
Jason sat at the far back desk beside Sanoku’s desk. “Don’t get any funny ideas, keep quiet and let me answer the QUESTIONS if any. Understood?” Sanoku said in a cold tone. “What’s his problem?” Jason thought, as he got comfortable on his chair he sat on.
The teacher came through the door and almost all the students stared at him in amazement not seeing a Digimon like that before. From Jason’s view this Digimon look like a larger version of Veemon, but he’s body shape was of a Flamedramon without any armour on, he did have a uniform on like the other teachers had. He’s hands were shaped of a Veemon with four fingers and one thumb clawed hands. Also his face still looks like a Veemon. “Whoa he looks like a cross over of a Veemon and Flamedramon… wonder how someone like that could do it…” Jason thought with wonder.
“I am Mr Massuki and I’ll be taking your science and technology lesson” Mr Massuki writ down his name on the white board with a black pen that was behind his desk. Sanoku kept very quiet and Jason whispered, “Is that your dad? He looks amazing, I never seen any Digimon like that before” Sanoku turned and looked at Jason who sat next to him “Yes… his my dad… I knew he work as a teacher but I never knew he would be our teacher, please don’t tell anyone… I feel a bit embarrassed… if you do I will knock you out…” Sanoku whispered back just enough for Jason heard.
Jason smiled and nodded in reply. Sanoku and Jason looked forwards at the white board. “All the teachers in this department it had to be my dad… at least we will get a fun lesson” Sanoku thought and brought a smile to his face.
Mr Massuki brought out a little device from the bag beside
the teachers desk, everyone lent forwards wondering what it was. “Today, I am
going to teach you lot how to make something like this.” He pressed a button
and a blast of light shot from it into the air and a hologram formed in the air
just above the device. The hologram was a 3D image of the Digital Academy
“WOW!” everyone said at once. “That so cool!” a Gazimon said from the far right
desk. “Whoa… that thing made something like that, I am going to enjoy this”
Jason said with a wide smile. “Like I
said he makes the lesson fun for his students… that’s my dad” Sanoku thought with a smirk on his face.
“I see I got everyone’s attraction, but sorry to say… after you make your own little holo-device you will have homework on how you made it and why you picked that holo-disc” Mr Massuki said while giving the gear to make one to each student in the class. He went back to the front of the class. “After you make one, we will test them out with a holo-disc I got here” The class sighed thinking its only one type of holo-disc “But… you all with have a large choice of which one you like” Mr Massuki placed a large bag on the desk being careful not to crush his holo-device.
Everyone smiled again after seeing that large bag “Ok class I am going to give instructions on the white board telling you how to make it in a step to step plan. If you wish to take notes, by all means do,” Mr Massuki told the class then started writing it down on the white board.
“I knew you would do well dad, I hope you don’t say that I am your son in this class… it will be very embarrassing” Sanoku thought as he started to follow his dad’s instructions that was being written on the board.
Matt walked down the hallway to he came up to a large dome like arena, he saw the others in his group there including the cute Agumon… Matt shock his head “Damn what wrong with me… I am flying to someone I don’t know that much…” Matt mumbled as he joined the rest of the group. He got a better look of the dome, it had a red like circle above on the ceiling that split into 4 lines that ran down the curved walls to the ground a quarter of a circle apart.
Yamer looked over at the Agumon with glasses on “I bet without those glasses on he looks handsome… Not again… I can’t let my friend Sarah know that I felly in love with someone just first meeting him…” Yamer thought and blushed a bit thinking how Matt would look without glasses on. Gazimon named Sarah Neckton saw small red marks under Yamer’s eyes and part of her snout. “Yamer are you alright your face looks a bit red” Yamer’s blush left and she look at Sarah “I’m fine Sarah, I’m ok” Yamer said nervously.
Before Sarah got say something the doors opened and the teacher walked into the Dome like arena. Everyone looked at him surprise.
What they saw of the teacher, he looked like a smaller version of Taomon. But he had blue robes covered his body. His paws had gloves that look like made for hand-to-hand combat. He didn’t have a headdress like a normal Taomon had; instead he had a black bandana that nicely matched his blue fur. He also didn’t have that large paintbrush; instead he had a stick with odd markings on it.
“Hello class, I am Mr. Taorson and I will be taking your training lessons” the blue and much smaller Taomon said to the class who was still amazed at what they are seeing. “I see you’re surprised to see a Taomon like me huh. Well I can tell you that it isn’t a new form but a form that only comes once every 10 generations” Matt took off his glasses and brought out a cloth from his bag and wipe them clear and as he was doing that he said “That explains it all, experts never could find out why some when Digivolving turn out a bit different to the normal form”
Yamer looked at Matt again this time seeing him without his glasses on, she blushed deeply looking at him and turn way from Sarah not letting her see. “God… what a time to blush like this… he looks sooooooo handsome without his glasses on… I got to ask him on a date… I got too… whoa, whoa, whoa, time out, time out…I am getting ahead of myself… maybe a lunch break with him will do to know more about him” Yamer thought as the blush lifted from her face and she looked back Mr. Taorson.
“Yes you are right, thank you for that comment Matt” Matt put his glasses back on “No problem sir” Mr Taorson looked at Matt with his glasses on “What is your eye sight for combat training?” Matt took them back off and looked at Taorson “I can see you clearly… but I wear them for mainly reading stuff or using a computer sir.” Mr Taorson nodded and replied in a clam tone “Then put them in your bag for safety, they can be broken if someone hits you in the face.” Matt nodded and put his glasses in the bag.
Matt felt a bit uneasy knowing he isn’t wearing his glasses but kept his mind focused, but when he looked at Yamer his mind turn over to see a beautiful female Agumon now seeing his face without his glasses on. He blushed a bit and Mr. Taorson saw this between them and sighed, “Young romance… maybe teaming them up together might overcome that large hole in between them.” Mr. Taorson thought.
“Ok class I am going to team you up with a fighting buddy, I am going to pair up Matt and Yamer as one team…” Matt and Yamer looked at each other in shock from where they stood.
“Sarah and Kate in another team…” As Mr. Taorson called out the names of two people and putting them in a team, Matt and Yamer stared at each other in a trace like state not knowing what to do now. Even they are both only 13 they falling down the trap door of love and couldn’t think of the words to talk to each other. “Ok that the teams, now I like you try out your special attacks to see what your strengths and weaknesses are” The class nodded in reply.
Matt looked at Yamer “You can go first if you like” Matt said calmly “Thanks, you’re a real friend” Yamer gave a toothed smile and then prepared to do her pepper breath “here goes nothing… Pepper Breath!” she launched a half sized fireball out of her mouth and hitting the red ring of this target that Mr. Taorson put there for the students to practice on. “Whoa nice one” Matt said and now becoming nervous. “Your turn Matt” Yamer said and Matt stepped up and took a deep breath “Pepper Breath!” Matt mange to launch a full size fireball from his mouth but sending him falling backwards into the wall, the fireball missed the target and hit the wall behind it. Everyone but the teacher, Sarah and Yamer was laughing at Matt.
Matt felt tears form in his eyes as he laid then on the ground after hitting the wall back first, he felt like a complete loser and wanted to end his life right there and then. “SILENCE!!!” Mr. Taorson lashed out at the class laughing. They all stopped laughing at once and all said in a nervous tone “Yes Sir…” Sarah and Yamer helped Matt to his feet and Yamer notice a bit of bruising on his back “I think you should go see the nurse Matt” Matt looked at Yamer “I think so too… I am getting a sharp pain in my back.”
“Yamer, you take Matt to the infirmary. You two can catch up with practice later on today” Matt and Yamer nodded in reply to what Mr. Taorson said. Yamer start to walk away with Matt slowly to the doors that lend out the training dome “Don’t worry I will bring your bags to you two after the class is finished” Yamer looked over at the teacher as they was about to leave the dome “Thank you sir” after that both left the dome and Mr. Taorson carried on with the lesson.
Matt sighed as he lay on the bed in the infirmary, Yamer was asked to leave so Matt could rest. Matt thought about that and thought it would be best to try and advoid Yamer for a time till he can clear his head a bit. “How long will I be here nurse?” A white fur Renamon came up to him and replied, “You heard your back pretty badly, I saw at least 24 hours before you can leave here.” Matt sighed again hearing those words “Can I at least use my laptop?” Matt asked and hoping she say yes. “I don’t see any reason you can’t use it” She gets up and goes to the bag.
The white fur Renamon picked up the bag and placed it in reach of Matt “Thank you miss… err…” Matt looked at her not knowing the name “I am Lisa Renawhite” the nurse said with a soft tone. “Nice to meet you Miss. Renawhite.” Matt said as he pulled out his laptop that was designed for an Agumon to use. “Nice to meet you too…” Miss Renawhite look at the sheet and looked at the name “…Matt, I will bring your lunch at 1pm then the dinner at 6:30pm” Matt looked at her “Thank you for taking care of me”
“It my job to take care of all injured Digimon that come to the infirmary, just don’t spend too long on that, you do need rest and sitting on that back of your isn’t going to help it one bit” Lisa left the room to check up on the others in the infirmary. Matt turned on his Laptop and as it was booting up he put his glasses back on. “That is one true nurse, don’t want to argue with her” Matt’s Laptop finished booting up “I wonder how that bridge is holding out in that storm over the sea between this island and the main land” Matt accessed the Digi-net with a wireless digital connection and came up to a digi-cam showing a view on the bridge.
“Whoa that is one storm” Matt looked at the window showing that picture of the storm over the bridge “Mark 5 on the scales of storm strength, if it reach mark 9 that bridge is history” Matt said to himself as he closed the window and went on the Digi-net to have a little fun playing online games since the Digi-net was free for all Digimon with access to Digi-net.
Yamer slowly walked down the dead quiet hallway thinking “Maybe it best if me and Matt keep away from each other… it don’t seem right to fall in love with someone on my first day here” Yamer mumbled as she came to the door that lend out of Building 4.
Yamer stopped by the doors and look to her right looking down the hallway that lend to the training dome. “Maybe I should go back to class… but it will be unfair on Matt being on his own” Yamer sighed and pushed the doors open exiting Building 4.
As she was walking out the building a large red object ran into her knocking Yamer over and the red object falling over too. “Ow…” the red large dino moaned “Hey watch where your going” Tamer growled as she got up on her 3 clawed feet. And looked at the red digimon getting up as well.
“No wonder I was easily knocked down… he is a Guilmon. A over grow rookie to my view” Yamer thought as she glared at the Guilmon in front of her “I’ sorry… I was in a rush. I just got off the train and I was running to this building to get to my first lesson” Yamer wished she had earplugs that high pitch voice of his was doing her head in.
“You go through the doors behind me and turn left. Go all the way down the hallway and you should see two red doors, enter it and the group is in there.” Yamer told him in a calm voice trying to stay natural. “Thank you, I guess I am in the same group as you then. Oh yeah my name is…” before he could tell her his name. Yamer was already walking away. “…” The Guilmon sighed as she disappeared from view.
“I bet it was my voice again… I can’t even make friends in this sector…” The Guilmon sat by the wall next to the doors. “I thought I could make friends here with ease then the west sector… that everyone took the mink out of me…” He got up with tears to his yellow eyes as he entered Building 4.
Yamer stopped halfway between the croos paths and Building 4 “Even I hate that voice, that was wrong of me walking off like that” Yamer found a log by the path and sat on it feeling bad the way she walked off from the Guilmon that was trying to be friendly. “I am sorry… I will never act like that ever again…” Yamer said to no one as she sat there waiting till the lesson is over to catch the Guilmon to apologise being so rude.
As the class worked on their little devices, Jason fiddles with a holo-disc. Sanoku look at Jason wondering why Jason was fiddling with the disc. Jason attempts to modify a Flamedramon holo-disc. “hum hmm” A voice said and Jason looked up to see Mr Massuki looking at him.
“Err… I was making a small change to the disc sir…” Jason point to a completed holo-device hoping that Mr Massuki would be pleased and let this one-drop. “I did complete it sir” Mr Massuki just stood there staring at the disc “Try it out, I like to see the changes you made to the disc.” Jason nodded in reply and inserts the disc into the device.
Jason pressed the button and the screen glowed. An image appeared above the device. The image was a Flamedramon without a blade to his mask “Dave……” Mr Massuki gasped in surprise to see that Flamedramon again after two years.
Jason took his eyes off the image and looked at Mr Massuki “Did you know my dad? Sir” The teacher looked at Jason. “I only met him twice. I never talked to your father” Jason hang his head low with a sigh. Sanoku stared at the image “He modified that… I am going to knock him out. But if dad met his father I guess I will let this one go…”
Jason looked over at Sanoku “What holo-disc your picking?” Sanoku looked at Jason and yawned a bit. That when Jason noticed his eyes was blood shot “You look tired” Sankou snorted and said, “So… what are you worried about? I am the one that had lack of sleep not you.”
Jason sighed “I only want to watch out for you…. That all” Sanoku blinked twice “Really?” Jason smiled and nodded in reply. “Err… thank you… I am surprised to hear someone say that to me…” Jason got off his chair and went over to Sanoku’s desk the was next to his desk. “After the lesson is over how about we get some lunch.” Sanoku smirked “Alright Jason, I would like to talk to someone then being on my own, you’re the first to come up to me even with my pride getting in the way.”
“We Veemons have pride within us, we can’t ignore it” Jason said to Sanoku. Sanoku starting to laugh “What?” Jason blinked in confusion “Oh… sorry but you sounded like my dad when he was a Veemon and told me that… hahahaha” Sanoku falls off his chair still laughing and the rest the class laugh for a different reason seeing Sanoku falling off. “I don’t get it” Jason thought as he rubs the back of his head nervously laughing.
Mr Massuki sat down by his desk with a chuckle trying not to laugh, he had to try and keep a straight face “Ok, enough laughing, get back to work class” The class calmed down and went back to working on the devices “Sanoku, I only stated what was true, I guess it is funny to you if your dad told you that lots of times” Jason gave a unsure look as he sat back at his desk.
“Hey no need to be unsure, I am just finding it funny that someone else use my dads phase so to speak” Jason looked at Sanoku from his desk with a smile “Yeah I guess so, 2 peas in a pod” Sanoku raised an eyebrow “2 peas in a pod? What language are you saying that in?” Jason put his head on the desk knowing he said something odd again. “Don’t ask me where I get this weird talk from… I just seem to say it like I know the meaning…” Sanoku sighed “Your not the only one, I said weird things latterly but don’t know why”
“Maybe it just weird and no answer to it” Jason suggested, “That the only and good answer for me” Sanoku smirked and went back to working on his device. “Dad… I hope your ok, I know now that dream of a rock hitting in that snow field did really hit… please be ok Dad” Jason thought as he stared at the holo-image of his father.
“So my fire rock isolation was perfect as always” a dim dark voice said as Dave was waking up “Err… what?” the dark figure looked at Dave with a smile “So your finally awake” Dave opened his eyes and looked at the shadow on the wall “Who are you?”
“Sorry but I can’t tell you that, you only see my shadow because I prefer no one saw who I am.” Dave tried to move but got a shock of electric “AHH!!” the shadowy figure chuckled “I thank you for bring this back to me, I couldn’t ask for a better idiot to deliver it”
“What?”
“Oh didn’t you know, your friend Max work for me, he at the moment completing a mission for me, that is getting the egg and blade” Dave was shocked at what he heard, Max his best friend was using him, Dave grow anger “That son of a Bitch!!!” the shadowy figure chuckled again “Don’t worry your son will not feel a thing when Max deletes him, that should happen in two to four weeks from now” Dave try looking at the figure and got a heavy shock of electric, it was so hard on his systems that he passed out from the pain.
“Put him with the other two…” the dark figure walked away and the shadow in front of Dave moved out of sight.
“Have you got what I want?”
“Yes and Have you?” the dark figure didn’t look at the one in the shadows and the one in the shadows didn’t look at the dark figure.
“Yes I have” Throws the bag on the floor by the Dark Figure’s feet.
“Here is the gold piece you wanted” The Dark figure tossed the gold item into the shadows.
“Good, now get me the other 4 pieces and I will give you 1 bag for each”
“I will get them” Figure smiled, picked up the bag and walked away. The person in the shadows disappears down the dark tunnels to the left of the person.
