| En la actualidad estoy trabajando como T�cnico asesor en algunas de las lonjas de la provincia de C�diz. Asesoro al sector en la identificaci�n de especies para el posterior etiquetado y en todo lo referente a notas de venta (cumplimentaci�n y env�o a la D.G.P.A.). En base a estas notas de venta se elabora anualmente la estad�stica pesquera en Andaluc�a. Mi trabajo incluye tambi�n la revisi�n y an�lisis de datos estad�sticos antes de su publicaci�n as� como la formaci�n del personal en algunos de los paquetes inform�ticos que se utilizan en la actividad diaria de la lonja. M�s recientemente me he incorporado al proyecto que acometer� la informatizaci�n de algunas lonjas de la provincia de C�diz. Este nuevo sistema de venta informatizada agilizar� la gesti�n integral de las lonjas y as� mismo contribuir� a elaborar una estad�stica m�s precisa y fiable. |

| I am currently working as a consultant from D.a.p. at some of the fish markets in C�diz. I assist the fishermen with correctly identifying and labeling commercial and non-commercial species of fish in compliance with the law. In addition I collect field data for population studies as well as statistic issues. Along with identifying fish species I am also the computer and technical advisor. As a consultant I am on first hand to assure the fishermen work in compliance with the law and solve any problems that arise. I am also involed in a project to atomatize the auction system at some of the local fish markets. Fish markets are being customized with conveyor belts and integrated computer systems. This new system will benefit sellers, buyers and the goverment by providing accurate information about fish especies, weight and cost. |

| Del 25 de junio al 25 de julio del 2004 trabaj� como voluntario en la Estaci�n Biol�gica de Bimini, dirigida por el Dr.Gruber y que tiene como objetivo principal la conservaci�n de los tiburones y su h�bitat. Durante este periodo particip� en algunos de los proyectos llevados a cabo, y que principalmente se dedicaban al estudio del Tibur�n lim�n (Negaprion brevirostris). Entre otros, he podido colaborar en: seguimiento de ejemplares con transmisor, pesca con palangre y trasmallo para el estudio de ejemplares adultos y juveniles respectivamente, a trav�s del marcaje y/o colocaci�n de trasmisores; toma de par�metros ambientales. |
| June 25 through July 25, 2004.Volunteer at the Bimini Biological Field Station (Sharklab) operated by Dr.Samuel H. Gruber. The Sharklab is deticated to the research and conservartion of sharks. I was involved in some of the projects being carried out, that were mostly focused on the ecologycal study of Lemon shark (Negaprion brevirostris). Some of my duties were: tracking trasmitered sharks, long-lining for surveying the populations of larger sharks; gillneting for research of juvenile Lemon shark; and taking environmental data. |
