| Good Afternoon! Can't believe that I was up so early this morning on my morning off. It was 7:15 when I rolled out of bed and even Colin wasn't awake yet. Usually he is the first one up around here and I have been sleeping in with Hannah until around 9. Of course that's cuz I am usually up till the wee hours of the morning on this computer and now with all 3 boys fighting for time on here to go to their new favourite site Neopets, time on here is hard to get, lol!! Kids are coming down for lunch now and it's someone else's turn. We are off to the beach this afternoon as today has turned very hot and humid and there is no breeze to be found at all. The clouds are looking threatening but it's been that way for days now. Colin has a soccer game tonite so I am really hoping that the weather stays nice for him. Take care, Joan |

| Monday, July 28~2003 Despite the dreary weather we had a wonderful weekend!! On Saturday we went to Cobourg for a family reunion for dad's side of the family. All of his brothers and sisters were there except my Aunt Donna who lives out west. She had sent a card though and dad was videotaping our families saying hi to her. It's been many years since I've seen her, too many that I can't even remember the last time. We had a birthday cake for my sister Sherry who had just turned 40, my cousin Bonnie who had just turned the big 50, and for my Uncle Bud (real name of Gerald, but no one could really tell me how the nickname stuck all of this time) who just turned 75!! I really never realized my dad's family was getting that old and I am hoping there are many more happy reunions before we have to start attending funerals. Kinda scary, really :o( We had a picture taken of all of us girls, and figured this was the first time we had ever done that without it being someone's wedding or other special occassion. I think it turned out wonderful and dad was very happy I think to see all of us there together. My little Hannah had such great fun playing with her cousin Emily. I wish we lived much closer together so they could grow up together, so I could see my sister more also. Now-a-days people are spread so far apart and time is so precious, it seems we never have enough of it, even though we have all these modern inventions that are supposed to make life easier for us, yet they just seem to make life busier for us, with all of us having to work harder to be able to afford these 'conveniences' !! It is a strange world indeed that we live in! |
