the Cloud of Death
plot
The Neptunians place a large metallic cloud over Earth which blocks
the sunlight and are prepared to do the same with every planet in the solar
system if the UGO does not send them slaves. Inspired by a drawing of
one of Isaac Newton’s inventions, Haggerty has a large mirror constructed.
Dart and his crew toe the mirror behind them in their Galasphere and position
it carefully so that the sunlight is reflected onto the cloud, causing
it to melt away. Raeburn contacts Tyro, the Neptunian overlord, who
agrees to consider joining the UGO.
notes
The Neptunians make their second appearance in this episode.
They had previously featured in the
Slaves of Neptune.
By the year 2100 the threat of storms has been eliminated, thanks to
the advent of cloud dispersal technology.
