Located South and East of Silver City New Mexico, Santa Rita is one of the last and biggest open pit mines in our area that is still in operation today.
The primary mining is for copper, and other valuable minerals. These are then sent to the smelters, and the copper is turned into "Ingots", and shipped out to different copper plants.
Chino developed a comprehensive protection plan to preserve a geological formation known as the Kneeling Nun monument.
