DIRTY WHITE BOYS.
I’d
worked with for the last twenty years.
I
called my old friends Jan Palthe and Thomas Vermeulen to record the
Basic-tracks
for the album.
During
the recording sessions the relation between Jan, Thomas and me
was
absolutely MAGIC and the idea was born to start a band which
played
blues-rock with the power of Cream, Taste and Jimi Hendrix.
But
first I wanted to finish the album because I had already invited the
guitar
players who were willing to take part on it.
Chriz
van Jaarsveld who was recording a new album in L.A. with the Sleeze Beez at that
time, was the only one who I couldn’t get hold of, so I talked to his old
buddy Erik Karreman, got the address, put my flying shoes on and took off to
L.A. to ask him if he wanted to play on my album. He was so moved by my urgency
he said ‘Yes,’ on the spot. Also appearing on this album were Hungarian
Guitar hero Tamas Szekeres, Highway Chile’s, Erik Karreman, Three Wild
Maniac’s, Frans Limonard, Wim Epskamp, Ganco’s Jan Willem van Holland and
Gerrit van der Spaan. This album is still available.
After
playing throughout The Netherlands we wanted to record something
on
our own and so was born a live album, Alive and Kicking at the BBC.
This
album is also available.
Jan Willem van Holland.
He
was a guest on the "Just a dirty white boy" album.
I played with J.W. before in the The Ganco's.
After Jan Palthe quit the band it was difficult to find a replacement but I
think J.W. is an excellent choice.
