CAPTAIN HEARTBEAT.
Started
as a party band in November 1990 and did
our first
concert
in December 1990.
Captain
Heartbeat playing a mix of Blues, Soul and Rock n Roll.
Songs
like: Soul man, Messin with the kid, Jailhouse Rock ,
Minnie
the Moocher, Sweet home Chicago and many more.
Captain
Heartbeat was a lined-up Rhythm section with Guitar,
a
4 piece Horn-section, 2 Female background voices and
myself
as the Lead-vocalist.
The
line-up of Captain Heartbeat change a lot so I will not put
all
the musicians on the list but the only people who were there from the
beginning
are: Daan Schaay, Conny Boon and myself.
In
August 1991 we did a radio show at the Phoenix Club
in
Delft, The Netherlands, and these recordings were called
No
Ashes for Phoenix and is available
on CDR.
Captain
Heartbeat stayed together till March 1992.
In
September 1998 a promoter of a rock and blues festival watched the
Video
tape from a concert back in 1991 and he phoned me up and he
wanted
to have Captain Heartbeat appear at his festival, I told him that the band did
not exist anymore, but he refused to take NO for an answer so I phoned up Daan
and Conny and they liked the idea to pump new blood into Captain Heartbeat.
We
played at the festival and it was such a huge success it was recorded for a
local radio station.
Captain
Heartbeat is still gigging throughout The Netherlands.
