| Ulrich Longenecker 1681-1757 | |||||||||||||||||
| On December 22, 2003, I received the greatest news! At long last I have found Ulrich Longenecker, died 1757. | |||||||||||||||||
| This is not Ulrich (1664-1752) from Rapho Twp., Lancaster, Penna. | |||||||||||||||||
| A Pastor Urner baptized him on Nov. 7, 1724 as one of nine 'constituent members' of the Coventry Church of the Brethren from Coventry Twp., Chester Co., Penna. | |||||||||||||||||
| I have also found Ulrich's brother Daniel, died 1756, from Providence Twp., Philadelphia (now Montgomery) Co., Penna. | |||||||||||||||||
| I have this information, plus more, in my Jan.-Mar. 2004 newsletter. | |||||||||||||||||
| A researcher has spent 45 hours looking through the records of Swiss baptisms for Biglen in the Latter Day Saints files in Salt Lake City. | |||||||||||||||||
| Here is what his e-mail said today: | |||||||||||||||||
| I have great news! I have found Ulrich and Daniel Langenecker's baptisms in Swiss records. | |||||||||||||||||
| As I had previously assumed, the family was living somewhere in Switzerland before 1693/1694. That is about the time that a number of Swiss with Anabaptist leanings left for Germany because of renewed persecution. | |||||||||||||||||
| Ulrich and Daniel had three other brothers and three sisters found in the baptismal records. The family I have found is a perfect match for your Longenecker family. | |||||||||||||||||
| After six years of searching, this is a wonderful Christmas present for all the Longenecker family! | |||||||||||||||||
