Just My Thoughts For The Day
TODAY ..August 23, 2002 MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY! I was thinking. Today, when I look back at my childhood and remember what it was like, I miss the good old days. The days of the neighbor next-door. For instance yelling to us kids, hey you children get out of my flower garden right this minute or I am going to call your mothers" and the woman meant it and we knew for a fact she had our telephone numbers. Today, forget it. Who even knows their next-door neighbor or for that matter anyone that lives on the same street as we do? And if the neighbor next door today was even brave enough to come knock at your door and let you know your kids were getting into mischief how would you respond? Would it be with the venom of a snake or with acceptance of the fact they even took the time to let us know? We all want to be good parents and correct our children's behavior don't we? If not you should! Hmmmm! Something to think about, wouldn't you agree? We have become so scared of one another that it is simply a shame. Why does a person not take the time now a day to get to know who his neighbors is? Is it the fact we have become too busy to care about anyone but ourselves anymore? What happened to the old saying, love thy neighbor? I think it is sad that so many of us have lost the art making true friendships, bonds that tie us together. What will happen one day when, God for bid you need your neighbor and you dont even know their name? Who would you turn to for help? People wake up! Take the time to stop and smell the roses and find out who the heck your neighbors are. Isn't it true, that when we are in a time of crisis that we turn to our friends and neighbors for help? What if all the sudden your child was missing? As you know this happens everyday people, again I say wake up!!! Might I offer a little friendly advice? Tomorrow morning or evening or this weekend stop by your neighbors house. Go up knock on the door and say, Hello my name is (JOHN DOE) and I owe you an apology. I have lived next-door to you for almost a year now (or fill in the appropriate years) and I have failed my duty as a fellow human being to take the time to get to know you and your family, please forgive me. Wow, I am sure by now the person that answered the door is thinking, where did this weirdo come from? But, I assure you he or she is thinking they too should have done the same thing but never took the time to do so. At that point, offer your hand forward for a firm handshake and offer genuine interest to the person in front of you. And from there let the conversation take shape as you begin to build a firm foundation with your neighbor and new friend. It is my sincere wish that people should learn from one another, to trust, be honest, and help when asked and to think of someone else before thinking of ourselves. For please remember this if nothing else. What goes around comes around ten-fold. And dont you feel good inside when you have helped someone in some way, however small or trivial the help may have seemed to you at the time, it may have been the greatest help your neighbor could have ever received in their minds eye. We reap and harvest from what we sow. Have you planted well this year? Because when its time to bring the in the crops will you have enough to eat? Just some food for thought. No pun intended of course. Please learn to love, live and slow down once in a while, you never know what exciting person or thing you might miss in your life if you dont. Take care and I like this writing of thoughts.hope it helped you in some small way to start planting the seeds of life that you will harvest when your time of need comes. Take care all, be happy, smile a lot, laugh much, and think good thoughts. Dianne
TODAY ..September 7, 2002 MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY! Today was not so eventful or so I thought. I went to work did my job, but today was I not so filled with my usual gun ho attitude. It was quiet, not many people at work this Saturday. But towards the end of the day I over heard some young men discussing various issues. It surprised me to learn that some men carry on with conversations as meaningful as we women do at times. One conversation was on respect as I gathered from little bits and pieces as I made my calls. One young man about in his early 30s I suppose was saying to another young man in his early twenties, you cant talk to a woman like that it is disrespectful. He then said, If she spoke to you in that manner you would have hit the roof wouldnt you? I chuckled to myself how funny was this? They really do talk about thingsmen that is. Ok now laughing to myself from the thought. Then their conversation lead to what is right and wrong. And then the bible popped into the conversation. Just then several other young men of various ages got into the discussion it was quite interesting listening to them chat away. Thinking to myself, I thought only women gathered to discussion such topics in life. At that point I had to move closer, this was to good to be true. I found their thoughts and ideas refreshing. Thoughts of God and his commandmentsthen someone chimed in on evolution. Which religion came first and so on. It was quite an eye opener to learn of the depths of these young men. Again as I stated in my earlier thoughts of August 23, 2002, stop and smell the roses or you might miss something truly interesting. It is good to know that people are genuinely interested in their friends and of their opinions, thoughts and ideas and accept each others views on life as we each see it. There was never any arguments just pleasant conversation that made me glad I was there to enjoy a few moments in my otherwise dull day. Thank you God for all your blessings especially the ones on either side of my head.hehe. Ears folksdid I make you have to think about that one? Good. Take care all, be happy, smile a lot, laugh much, and think good thoughts. Dianne
Today..September 11.2002 MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY! Today was a day of Remembrance on this Wednesday the Anniversary of 9-11-01. I am a bill collector and there was no way I was going to call anyone on this day. It was and I think should be a National Day of Remembrance for all Americans, a day that we shall never forget. A day when bastards slaughtered thousands of innocent people for no good reason other than to prove they could. We as a Nation have become sadly aware of our complacence, but no longer is this gentle giant asleep. She was awakened from her deep sleep on September 11, 2001. We have come together as a United Nation to hold strong to our way of life, which is Freedom, Liberty and Justice for All. She will fight back like a Mother Lion that protects her baby cubs. She will defend her territory far and wide and seek out the enemy till she is satisfied he is no longer a threat to her. I will pray for this great Nation and our leaders that God will grant them and the people of these United States, wisdom and grace to do, that which is right in the fight against this ugly foe, known as Terrorism. I hope that you will in turn do the same on a daily basis as we move forward to strive for a more Peaceful World. We shall never forget the loved ones, lost and left behind. May God bless us everyone. We thank you God for the many blessing you have already bestowed upon us and will continue to give thanks as you guide us each and everyday Lord. Through your comfort and mercy may we find strength to move forward. We shall continue our Earthly journey until it is our time to come home to you Lord, where once again we shall be reunited with our loved ones. Thank you Lord for watching over us. Take care all, be happy, smile a lot, laugh much, and think good thoughts. Dianne

Today.....December 23, 2002 MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY! As Christmas day draws near, I am reminded of loved ones who have gone to be with the Lord. My heart is saddened from the loss of their presences here on Earth with us at this joyous time of year. But, at the same time my heart is also filled with the knowledge that they are at home and filled with their own joy of where they are right now. They are with that little baby boy who grew into a man that came to save us all so that one day too we might come to be with our Heavenly Savior Jesus Christ. Each of us has but only a short stay upon this Earth and I can say that I am ready when my time comes. This Lord is my Shepard and he leads my way. I try to follow where he leads, but sometimes I go a stray. I know that He loves me no matter how far I stray and that I pray he returns me upon my true path. I believe he listens to my prayers and guides me when I listen with my open heart. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Be kind to people. Give of yourself and your time. Help a total stranger when you see a need, without thought of your sacrifice. Think about this. Did Jesus ever say? No, I am to busy come back later. No, I just don't have the time to help you. No, your request is too big. Jesus the Son of God was always ready to help, heal, teach, guide and pray no matter what the situation was. Is it possible for us to be more like Jesus? And could you knowingly give up your life for so many undeserving people so that they could have eternal life. The next time someone asks you for a favor no matter what the size.....think of what Jesus did for you and me. Think of each nail he took upon his hands and feet. Think about each moment of torment and agony He must have felt. Then think about the small sacrifice you might have to give up to do one small deed of kindness for someone else and I think you will find there is no comparison. But in that act God will see your true heart and know that when he gave his only begotten Son it was worth His greatest Sacrifice. This Christmas may we remember that tiny baby boy Jesus and his true purpose. May God bless you this Christmas and in the New Year with much Hope, Joy, Peace and Good Will to men. Merry Christmas to All and to all a goodnight. May Gods Heavenly Angels keep watch over us all. Take care all, be happy, smile a lot, laugh much and think good thoughts. Dianne

Today.....February 9, 2003 MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY! The Heart is where Life Begins When looking back on my life I really have no regrets as I did the best I could at the time. Life has a funny way of turning out, never as one quite expects. You go through life following the motions. From child to teen to adult then on to college or marriage, a house you make into a home, children of your own, a career with a future. Reacting to things that happen as best you can. Hoping you make the right decisions, finding out later you didnt. But then again knowing what not to do the next time that same situation arises. Life is a teacher in and of its self. It can be friend or foe. Many of lifes choices are made from your heart and not your head. To bad our hearts dont have built in brains and ears so that when someone tells you not to do something it will think and hear with reason. But, alas a heart only feels what it feels. And you act on those feelings sometimes even knowing you are not making the right choice, but with no way to escape the inevitable journey of pain that will come from moving forward in a direction that is plainly marked as a collision course. I can say in defense of my heart though, that it has made some good decisions in my life. One day I hope to have the ability to making wise choices in life, but for now I only feel with my heart and pray the brain will take a more active part in my life. (Smiles) Today is the day the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.
