The article that I wrote and which was published in the Jan. '04 issue of the Mensa Bulletin is something I have been thinking about for almost 45 years. Retirement is not only fun, but it also allows you to do a lot of the things you never had time for before. Some things which I have recently read; Wolfram's book "A New Kind Of Science" and a Scientific American article about the theory of Loop Quantum Gravity, encouraged me to write the article. Both propose that time and space are digital, something which I also believe.

Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity will be 100 years old next year. Einstein published it in 1905. The first part of my article is a brief explanation of the three main points of his theory. In the second part of the article I suggest a different way to consider these three points. This then leads me to the conclusion that all energy is a single unit of something that exists in a dimension apart from the space, matter and motion universe we observe through our senses. It also leads me to suggest that both time and space are digital. This interpretation of Einstein's theory also provides a way to explain the non-locality found in quantum theory.

In the String Theory article below I have tried to give a brief description of String Theory and a possible solution for what I see as a problem with this theory. Some physicists believe that String Theory may lead us to that elusive T.O.E. (Theory of Everything)

The interpretation of Special Relativity that I present in the Mensa Article, and the suggestions I propose for String Theory create some interesting possibilities for both theology and mysticism. In the FOA article below I explore one of these possibilities.
