Dear Parents,
Well, I think we're all ready for
a few days off! It's time to relax and enjoy time with family
and friends. Let us all remember what we are thankful for and
to count our many blessings!
I'd like to thank you all for your
support and for "sharing" your children with me. They
bless me everyday in their own special ways.
Thank you too for your generous donations to the Lighthouse Food
Drive. Besides helping others, you are teaching your child about
the gift of giving.
We will be visiting Santa's Secret Shop next Tuesday, December
2nd, at 1:00 p.m. The children will have the opportunity to purchase
gifts for friends and family members. This is a fun program as
well as a great learning experience for your child. Please make
use of the envelope coming your way. It will help the parent
volunteers assist your child in making his/her selections. You
are also welcome to accompany your child.
A week from this Friday (December 5th) is our trip to see The
Wizard of Oz. I will find out this week how many parents I can
bring and will let those of you who signed up know. If you are
chosen, I will need $6.00 to cover the cost of admission.
Still looking for Memory Book volunteers!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Now, for a look at this week's
activities:
Reading/Writing
Since this is a short week,
we will wait to begin our next story next Monday. Instead, we
will read short stories and focus on building comprehension.
Last week we wrote about "How to Make A Turkey." Our
recipes will be published in a class book.
Phonics/Word Wall Activities
We begin short vowel "U"
this week.
Ask your child about "Word
Wall Relay," a fun activity that helps us learn our
sight words.
Math
We continue our work with subtraction. This week we'll learn how to
check subtraction using addition.
Science
Last week we learned about
solids, liquids and gases. This week we'll learn more about gases
and experiment with bubbles.
Religion
This week we'll read about
how as a young boy, Jesus liked to learn. We'll share the things
that we like to learn about too.
Homework
- Read to/with your child, practice wordbooks, attached activity.
