I'm Diane and I wear many hats. I teach English as a Second Language and Maths to high-school aged overseas students. Most of my students are from China. I really enjoy the contact with people from the country of my future daughter.
I'm also Mum to a very active 5 year old son named Jarrah. He just started school this year and I've been helping him to make this big transition in his life. Since we didn't know anyone at this school we've been spending a lot of this year making new friends. The school itself is marvellous and very ethnically diverse. We couldn't be happier with our choice!
I also study professional writing and Chinese and try to find time to complete all the homework as well as send manuscripts off to publishers.
In my free time I love to do a range of handicrafts including knitting, cross-stitch and quilting. I also enjoy reading. Last year with the purchase of our computer I've become involved in several adoption elists. I've started up a group for Australians adopting from China called australians-adopt-china and also a book club for people adopting from China called chinabooks.
Last but not least of my tasks is keeping the house livable, managing the finances and preparing food for my family. |
