Updated September 8, 2005!

Hello to everyone from the HUGE state of TEXAS!! My name is Diane and this is my "Little Home on the Web"........

I have been surfing the web for quite a while now......it is VERY ADDICTING.....to say the least! I have come a long way since 1996 when I didn't even know how to turn ON a computer..... much LESS.....use it!!

I work as an Administrative Assistant in Houston, Texas.(UPDATE...Since May 2004 I have been on disability and trying to get Social Security...have already been denied ONCE by them and I have hired a lawyer to help me with the remaining things that I need to do...it has been VERY stressful for me and I have learned alot about the disability process) I have two sons whom I love very much.....my oldest son (William....26) lives in College Station, TX, he went to Texas A&M for two years but the cost just kept going higher and higher and he decided on his OWN to switch to a less expensive college to continue his education (did I mention he was SMART too) He also has to work full time, so it is taking him longer than normal to get his degree. My other son (Bubba....26) decided college was not his "thing" and he is working doing MANUAL LABOR with the phone company....laying cable or something to that effect.....HARD WORK!! Bubba (nickname) loves the outdoors and practically LIVES outside, he wanted to be a Game Warden but when he realized it took a college degree he gave up on the idea...LOL! They are wonderful boys and I am VERY FORTUNATE to have been blessed with them. I also have three awesome stepchildren now....(I remarried in April 1998). Michael is 25 (went to college to be a teacher and a coach and is now in his first year of teaching and he loves it), Josh is 22(went to college for 2 years and decided it was not his thing and is now into manual labor like Bubba and dong great) and Sarah is 20 (she is going to school to be an RN and she is ALSO the daughter I never had...she is a sweetie) Mike and I realize how blessed we are to have five children who do not take drugs, "basically" stay out of trouble, LOL, and they ALL make great grades in school. We count our blessings daily! Of course, maybe the parents had a LITTLE to do with that! We have not been blessed with any grandkids yet.....but since none of our kids are married yet, I guess that is a GOOD thing (grin) I guess the grandkids will happen when the time is right!

I also TOTALLY love animals.......the more the merrier!! At this point in my life I have 3 dogs, 2 cats, 1 cockatiel,1 parakeet and an aquarium full of fish (Cichlids).....We adopted an ADORABLE little black and white kitten from the
Houston SPCA
in November of 1997. She is spoiled rotten..... after having her in our life for seven years now, I can 'honestly' say that she runs OUR life!! Anyone who owns a cat knows exactly what I am saying!!. But I still feel like I saved a life by getting her from the SPCA. The volunteers who work there are WONDERFUL, CARING and HARDWORKING citizens!!! Check out their site...maybe you can help in some SMALL way!! **Update** We still have Skittles...but in October 2000, I rescued a solid black kitten (barely a month old) from a tree in our neighborhood. I could not find the owner and needless to say "SALEM" now belongs to OUR family....WHAT'S ONE MORE CRITTER????? He is such a mess.....and a BIG LOVEABLE BABY !!

I have a VERY SPECIAL person in my life whom I love VERY MUCH......he opened my eyes to love......and I will ALWAYS be grateful for this...I'm just sorry that it took us so long to find each other!! And for those who don't know.....we got married on April 15, 1998! It is the best thing that ever happened in my life with the exception of the birth of my children!

I'm very close to my Mama and Daddy (I'm a "daddy's girl") and my brother Bo and two sisters, Lisa and Sandy ........ALL OF THESE THINGS give me a reason to SMILE.

Some of the things that I enjoy during my "rare" free time are....messing with my web page, searching for my "roots"....I love genealogy and I although I am fairly new at it, I am learning a lot. I love playing games on the web....Family Feud and some of the other games on UPROAR are my favorites ...I also love any kind of casino games.I recently joined POGO and I am having a blast with trying to get all of my badges and I have really met a LOT of nice people in the chat rooms. I have also done a couple of the tournaments but they kind of stress me out...LOL...so I have not done too many of those yet. You need to check out this site...if you like it, I have a free pass that I can email you.

POGO GAMES

I love camping and fishing and swimming.......I just don't get the opportunity to participate in these activities too much anymore.....as it seems like I work ALL the time! I am addicted to growing beautiful plants....I love Hibiscus and Gardenias and Crepe Myrtles and Honeysuckles on and on and on.......I love growing flowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies…. so I am in the garden a lot and not on the computer as much these days!

I make the time to care for all my wonderful pets and keeping up with ALL those "young adults" is a FULL time effort! I love all kinds of music.....but my "fav" is old rock and roll.....it can take your mind back to a time in your life when you had no responsibilities and all you lived for was having fun! I love to sing...so I taught myself to play the guitar and the piano when I was 12 years old....I still like to mess around with it when I get a spare moment! (grin)

I'm TRYING to learn about genealogy...but it takes patience...and I don't have much of that at this stage in my life......=( I'm trying to learn more about Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia....I have these two things and thru the genealogy stuff I have discovered that several members in the family also have it...so I can blame it on ANCESTORS!! I don't allow this disease to rule my life tho......I am just beginning to understand that happiness is a "state of mind" and you can either be MISERABLE or be HAPPY........I intend to spend the rest of my life discovering happiness and showering it on the ones that I love!! You are NEVER too old to learn.......and it is my goal in life to enjoy EVERYDAY and keep smiling.......lose all those old memories that tore my life apart....for they are behind me now and I am one of the luckiest women in the world now......and I ain't gonna look back again!!
