Dear Sir/Madam
DIANE WISHART APPEAL FUND

I am writing to you to tell you about my wonderful daughter in law Diane Wishart.
Diane is not only my daughter in law but she is in fact the daughter I never had and could not have wished for a better wife to my son or a better mother to my grand children. This makes this letter even harder to write.

Diane is married to my son Eddie and they have two beautiful daughters, Eve aged 9 and Rose aged 6.

Diane by nature is a very kind, caring and loving person. She is patient and understanding and she will always put everyone else's needs before her own. She has the ability to recognise when her help is needed and will always be available to anyone who needs her. I can honestly say that I don't think there is anyone Diane wouldn't help if they needed it.

Diane is funny, witty, and warm and a great mum to her children, Eve and Rose and a great wife to my son Eddie.

Unfortunately Diane has been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer, which is not curable. It has now affected and spread to her chest wall, Lymph System, Lungs and Liver. Diane has previously battled this devastating illness and was in remission for the last two years, before the latest diagnosis.

Diane is a fiercely independent woman and will continue to fight for the best possible quality of life available to her to enable her to spend quality time with her family before this crippling disease takes over.

This is where you come in. Friends and family have started a fund raising campaign to ensure that Diane has the means and access to the best possible treatment available to her, maximising her life expectancy. Treatment such as this may not always be available to her in the UK or on the NHS. Our main aim is to ensure that Diane can have and maintain a good quality of life with her young children and her family and also giving us some hope that one-day a cure may be discovered and no other families will have to endure this cruel and indiscriminate illness.

What we are looking for is anything that would help raise money for this appeal. If you can supply prizes for raffles, vouchers, anything at all that could raise money or a cash donation it would be greatly appreciated by the fund. As all the fundraising events will be held locally, this will ensure maximum publicity for you with the potential to increase your business profile within your local area. This can only be beneficial to your company and you could reap many rewards and be safe in the knowledge you have given hope to a family in very tragic times.

There is one very important caveat to this appeal. Both Rose and Eve know their mum is ill and will require frequent treatment but do not know the illness is terminal and we would like to keep it this way at the moment. It is important for the girls to enjoy the time they have left with their mum not to be marred the constant worry about how long they have left.

Any publicity regarding donations etc would have to accept and respect the wishes of the family.

Your help and support is vital to Diane and her family.
