She grew up with a strong influence from her mother, who designed, embroiled, painted and did hand-made works. Her father loved to see her dancing, painting, playing the accordion and reading her own writings.
"I was born in Fortaleza, state of Ceará, a city where there is a lot of coconut plants and beaches, where the sky is very blue and the sun always shines."
"I like bright colors like life, pure and happy colors just like God used to paint nature. I like to see people make friends."
The favorite things in her life are her daughter and sons:
- Raildes Heriana
- Sergio Elizeu
- Sergio Antonio
- Diano
Her family, herself, and her paintings are all different. In her paintings, the peasant life is showed in a new and happy way, as well as vanishing wildlife.
"What is an artist? I can answer that!. One night I dreamed of my dad going to the other life, he was talking to me under a big tree, and he said: 'Daughter, this building is for you and your brothers', then I saw a big white six-floor building and I asked him: 'Dad, why God had built a building that big?', he said: 'One floor is for each one of you', after that we both prayed under the tree. One day I asked one friend of mine, an artist that was about to move to another city, to make a painting dedicated to me. And guess what he painted? A big tree in the middle of a white building. How could 'Reginaldo the artist' see my dream?. Only God can explain the artwork of an artist."
Diana Oliveira currently lives and works in Danbury, Connecticut, USA.
