THE 1997 Glendale Senators

     Team History

The Team

The Attire

Almost 90% of the 1996 Glendale Braves resigned with the club. In addition the team went in an entirely different direction when In the fall of 1996, it was deemed best if no player/manager existed. Mr. Hawkins and Mr. Lindsey (John Hawkins and Jason Lindsey fathers) took over co-managerial roles. In the beginning, the team seemed poised to accept the new staff, however, as we know it didn't quite work out. Mid-to-late season, with much difficulty, it was decided it would be best if they both stepped down. Now as you can imagine this didn't go over well and we did see some unfortunate departures from the team. However, the team survived, we still made the playoff's but finished the season without a few of it's best players and good friends. This led to a major change for the 1998 season. In addition, Ken Hulse accepted a coaching position (thankfully) which turned into a blessing down the road.
