Joe
diMonda is an original Glendale Brave of 1996. Acting as
manager/player for the first 4 years, he coached the
1996 All Star team, made the All
Star team in 1997 and maybe 1998 or 1999 but were still looking into that.
He has played mostly outfield but has filled in at catcher & pitcher
on a number of occasions and sub most elsewhere. In 1999 he left Colorado and returned home to
play for the New York Sox of the MABL. There, under the wing of his
brother Andy and friend Joe Luparella he had a stellar season batting
about .670 and going 7-1 on the mound. He made the All Star team, was voted MVP
and
participated in a few tournaments around the country.
His return in 2001 created a new position as utility
player in the outfield, on the mound and behind the
plate. He has a strong arm, unique pitching style but is
more notable for his hi-jinx on and off the field. Ask
anyone...
