DIALOGUE CENTRE

GRADUATE SCHOOL , STATE ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY (UIN)

SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA

Dialogue Centre is a semi-independent institute in the Graduate Programme, State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta that organizes the education of pluralism in order to build an Indonesian community that highly appreciates the religious diversity. Therefore, the basis of this institute relies on spirit of dialogue to uphold the openness, honesty and justice.

This institute believes that democratic, just, peace and prosperous Indonesia in the future only can be built through honest, open, creative and responsible dialogue. Dialogue is a method and a process that can appreciate and respect the whole diversity which eventually can build the spirit of dynamic togetherness. Moreover, the dialogue is not intended to neglect and omit the diversity. This departs from a belief that diversity and uniqueness in a society is the will of God. Thus, the dialogue is inevitably a way to express thanks to the mercy of God.

With its semi-independent status under the Graduate Programme of UIN, this institute is intended to play an important role in bridging the gap among governmental institutes and non-governmental ones.
