A SOLDIER'S PRAYER
Dear Lord, we in the valley of death seek your guidance. Lead us and our companions safely through the hazards of our missions and return us safely at the end of the day. Help us to perform our duties whatever they may be to the best of our abilities. Help us to
overcome the tribulations of the day and Lord if it be your will that we must fall, let it be with honor.
Lord we ask that you watch over our commanders. Help them to do their work honorably, with courage and with wisdom. Help them to make guide our actions efficiently but with a reverence for human life.
Help our political leaders to do so with wisdom and humanity. Cause them not to fail in their attempts to negotiate, nor cause them to forget the price of failure, but guide them ever toward a more peaceful solution.
Lord, we ask that you cause all nations to understand the futility of conflict and the benefits of cooperation. We ask that you show their peoples that glory lies not in what you do to others, but what you do for them.
This we ask in your name,Jesus, until our kind are no longer needed upon the earth.
