The discovery of numbers was, perhaps, one of the greatest achievements of mankind and it is this discovery that led to the development of all kinds of calculating devices. Today, it is impossible to imagine a world without numbers. The development of numbers, which we use today, for counting or for calculations, has passed through many stages.
