Welcome to Jeddah City 2004. Jeddah is the second largest city after Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. It is the main port of the Kingdom on the Red Sea and the main gate through which most of the pilgrims arrive by air and sea to perform Umrah, Haj or to visit the two holy mosques in Makkah. Jeddah is an industrial and active commercial center. Parts of this website are based on facts and others upon personal experiences and opinions. Jeddah's past, is fascinating and it goes as far back as the very beginning of the human race. To learn more about the origins and history of Jeddah, take a look at the History page. Saudi Arabia's only holidays are Islamic. They are only two which are "Eid al-Fitr" and "Eid al-Adha". Although the Kingdom has a National day this is not considered as a holiday.
