The
"Cuda" This bike was a real find! In 1999 I was browsing the internet, looking at the values of other G's for my own amusement and I found this motorcycle on Trader Online, along with another, for sale by the same guy. This guy was probably the luckiest guy I knew of! Two G's!?! Wow! I had to call him. As luck would have it, he had already sold one of the bikes and was close to selling this one. We talked and compared notes and suddenly I was talking to him about buying the Cuda as a backup for the Shark. Everyone knows that nothing lasts forever. The Shark is my daily ride and is getting over 300 miles every week. If I wanted to keep riding a G well into the millenium, I'd have to have a backup bike. My wife agreed to let me have the money (for a player to be named later) So I bought the Cuda, a 1991 GSX1100 with 1800 original miles on her, and shipped it home from Kansas City. She'd been lovingly stored for 8 years in a heated garage, and very meticlously restored to service. After a bike sits so long unridden, it requires some work to get it roadworthy again (fuel work, new tires, battery, fluids, etc.) and it was all done. I ride this bike once a week, or more often when the Shark is down for repairs. It's a wickedly fun ride with the 4 into 1 exhaust and rejetted carbs. I added the case guards and a few other things. Big changes are in the works for both bikes, however. |
