About Eta Beta
The Eta Beta chapter of Delta Gamma began at the University of Hartford as an interest group of about thirty women.  The founding sisters wanted a group which focused on acceptance, diversity, service, and friendship.  On April 18, 1996, the Panhellenic council voted unanimously to accept the new sorority.  The founding sisters were initiated on November 16, 1996.

About Delta Gamma
HISTORY
Delta Gamma, an international fraternity,  was founded in 1873 at the Lewis School in Oxford, Mississippi.  The organization was founded by three women: May Comfort, Anna Boyd, and Eva Webb, who were unable to go home for the Christmas holiday due to inclement weather.

PHILOSOPHY
Delta Gamma's primary purpose is to create an environment for its members in which lasting friendships are established and in which the members find the processes, the experience, and the disciplines which will stimilulate clear thought.  Its aim is to foster an atmosphere in which women will develop a deeper love and consideration for mankind, a more profound understand of the purpose of life, and a basic wisdom upon which to build their lives.

PHILANTHROPY
