| Article V
Officer�s duties Section 1. President: Provide guidance and leadership to the activities of the chapter, chair meetings, maintain liaison with the national DFC Society Board of Directors, report chapter activities to the National Board of Directors for inclusion in the newsletter. Section 2. Vice-President: shall attend all meetings and support the president in furthering the goals of the chapter, perform the duties of the president when president is absent, ensure that quarterly meeting facilities are reserved and such other duties as prescribed by the president. Section 3. Secretary: shall attend all meetings, prepare and maintain a written record of all general meetings, as well as meetings of the executive committee. Maintain records of attendance of meetings, active membership files and correspondence with the national headquarters and other chapters. Section 4. Treasurer: The Treasurer shall have custody of chapter funds and shall keep full and accurate account of receipts and disbursements in the books belonging to th chapter. The Treasurer shall deposit all monies and other valuable in the name of and to the credit of the chapter in such depository. The Treasurer shall monitor the activities of all fundraising committees. The Treasurer shall be authorized to disburse funds specified in the approved annual budget as approved by chapter officers and general membership. The Treasurer may disburse finds not specified by the approved budget when directed by action of chapter officers and as confirmed subsequently by chapter membership. The Treasurer shall provide a report of all transactions of the Treasury and of the financial condition of the chapter at each regular meeting or as required. The Treasurer shall serve without bond. Article VI Meetings Section 1. Board Meetings: There shall be no fewer that two (2) regular officers meeting each year, or on such dates and locations determined by the Board. A quorum shall be the majority of the Officers present and voting. Section 2. special meetings may be called by the President or two thirds of the officers by telephone or e-mail with a five day notice. Article VII Committees Section 1. The president may appoint, subject to approval of the executive committee, standing, special or ad-hoc committees to accomplish duties beyond the scope of the elected executive committee. Article VIII Amendments Section 1. These by-laws may be amended, repealed, altered in whole or in part by a majority vote at any organized Great Plains chapter meeting provided that suggested changes be made available to the members at least 30 days prior to consideration at the regular meeting. Article IX Dissolution In the event of dissolution of the chapter, the assets shall be liquidated and distributed to a not for profit organization qualifying under Internal Revenue Code 501 or another like organization. None of the funds shall inure to the benefit of the individuals. |
