The potential for this picture struck me one day when I was lying on a local beach. Lying with my chin on my hands I looked & really saw the rocks in front of me from a perspective that was quite unique. Frustratingly, I didn't have my camera with me that day, so had to create the painting later from a mxture of the picture in my mind and general photographs of the area that I already had in my library. A challenge all it's very own. So far, however, only one person has commented that, if you actually look at the relative proportions of things, you would have to only be about 4 inches high to get that view.
Quite an old picture now it nevertheless deserves inclusion because it was the first painting that I ever 'sold', so to speak. Donated to a charity auction I have to confess that I hadn't really expected it to sell for much and was surprised to discover, not just that people were willing to pay for my pictures, but that they were willing to pay quite a lot of money for them. It was the sale of this painting that made me first consider becoming a professional artist and therefore deserves a space on this site.
