| The Anointing And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. Isaiah 10:27 At the risk of being called esoteric, mystical, or the like, I hope to convey to the reader how that the works of God on earth have not passed away and that it is not restricted to Pentecostal and Charismatic realms. The anointing that I speak of is the burden removing, yoke destroying, power of God. The anointing can be summed up in the following: 1) Presence of God 2) Favor of God - to be viewed favorably in the eyes of God and people 3) Blessing of God 4) Selected by God for ministry or a specific task 5) Qualification - To be equipped by God to perform a task But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 1 John 2:27 Contrary to salvation, one must pay a price of sorts for the anointing of God. Have-To's: 1) You must be saved! 2) Obedience to God and compliance to Biblical teachings. 3) Religion must be denied but relationship with God must be embraced and pursued. 4) Living a life 'separated' or rather abstaining from what would be deemed as sinful. 5) Being very selective of people who are close to you in terms of their individual lifestyles, passions, strengths, weaknesses, and closeness to God. Expect the anointing to be more like Holy Spirit baptism and not something that will make you Superman or Superwoman. It just makes you more pliable for God to use.
