Dexter's Webpage
I have been making, maintaining, programming and using computers and computer networks since 1970. *
My first computer was a mainframe in college, an IBM 360-50 at William and Mary.  My first personal computer was an Apple and later an Imsai S-100 bus computer with a real 8 inch floppy and 5 MB harddrive. Later, in 1982, I became a computer store service manager for IBM and Compaq computers and Okidata printers.  I installed and maintained IBM and Novell networks. Novell networks using ARCNET NICs was my first experience with networks.
In 1985, I sampled windows, the original Xerox/HP and then   Microsoft Windows and then Windows 86 and 386. The first Windows to be really be usable was Windows 3.0.
My experience includes developing DB2, Oracle and SQL Server databases. I can design, deploy, develop and maintain networked Windows desktops and servers.

Actually, in 1959 at age 7 I was taken, by my mom, to use an UNIVAC at her office. It had, yes a CRT screen, but most communication was thru a teletype and card readers. This computer was one in a handful of digital computers in the world, yes as big as a small warehouse with many racks of electron tubes.
Looking for new experiences...
