Chapter Five
Lesson wasn't bad at all. Larry killed time by chatting with this girl. There wasn't much he could talk about though. What was there to say about your life of five years? 'And for someone who's willing to talk about herself!' Nick thought.
"So where did you grow up in?" Tanya asked with her deep blue eyes gazing at him. Nick was lost in the midnight lake.
"Huh?" he snapped back to reality. "Oh! Uh... Berlin," Larry hesitated.
He had memorized that file that his mother gave him five years ago. It was like playing a role in a movie. You have to know it well, real well, in order to play it excellently. That's what Nick Carter likes to do. He just applied this to his role as Larry Ericsson. 'But this sure is the most stinky role ever!' he swore. 'A role for the rest of your life. Isn't this even longer than Gillian's Anderson's in the X-Files?'
Tanya rattled on about her life. Larry was thankful. He would stumble over his biography from doubts and hypnotized by this drop-dead stunning girl.
'Her surname surely suits her. Winter...' he thought. 'She has the milkiest skin I'd ever seen! A break from the California tan,' Larry winced.
"Hey!" Tanya waved her hand in Larry's face. "Steinmann said we've to do some research and a project, wanna work together?" Larry managed to stutter out. 'Woah! I'm not the loner at last!' Then he caught Krauswer staring deadly at him. 'Or maybe I'll be dead meat instead this time.'
"So what's this project about?" Larry asekd.
"Boy, you sure didn't pay attention, did ya?" Tanya laughed. It was llike running waters to Larry's ears. 'Or like waves crashing on Florida beaches,' he recalled.
"Well, we've to work in pairs and do some research on 'Gays and Lesbians' first. We are given to weeks. We'll have to write a five pages report each. Afterwards, we will form groups of six, as in joining two other teams and do a project on 'Gays and Lesbian', with reports included, of course,' Tanya went on explaining the whole soon to Larry. Till the bell for the end of lesson rang.
Larry and Tanya strode out of the room together, chatting like old friends. Everyone gaped at them.
No one had seen anybody talking to Larry before, especially from Steinmann's classes. One reason was that they feared Krauser and his gang would put them on their bad list, too.
"Hey, this class is fun" Tanya exclaimed. "Especially with you." she added shyly. Larry eyes popped open.
"Really?" he asked shakily. "Cool." He felt like jumping and scream for joy, but he held himself back, not to scare Tanya off.
"Do you want to hang out afterwards? We can start working on our research."
"Sure."
