Chapter Six
Klaus Steinmann looked at the empty classroom.
This was the quietest moment of the day. When lessons were over, and students had rushed out of the room.
A smile crept into Steinmann's face as he recalled today's incident.
He was happy for the kid. Tanya was like an angel from heaven sent. She was the only was willing to communicate with Larry, and the one who managed to break through Larry's shell, and to get to him. He had never seen Larry Ericsson so full of radiance as he had today. Even before the school started making fun of Larry, he had always been a gloomy kid. He carried this mysterious aura about him. You could chat with him, he was goo at that, but when it comes to personal questions, there's always something that he seems to be hiding. A while later, he would feel discomfited and end the conversation in a polite way.
Though this is the way he was, others still considered him as cool. Girl thought that he was hot. They say he looks like a star, like some celebrity. Klaus could not disagree with this. Larry Ericsson surely enacts the behaviour and attitude of a classy celebrity, yet with a sense of playfulness.
But it's different with Tanya. During the past two hours, Larry Ericsson had been talking non-stop with Tanya. Steinmann hadn't mind a bit. He thought that kid needed to loosen up a bit. He was glad that someone managed to do that, though Larry still tried putting off personal questions. Besides, Larry was always attentive during lectures, he needed not worry Larry would not be able to catch up. He was affectionate for Larry.
Steinmann nonchalantly wiped the already-clean blackboard, still grinning from year to year.
"Klaus, are you okay?" A soft female voice broke his thoughts. He turned around to find Helga Brunner, a human biology and heredity professor staring at him.
"Oh nothing, I'm fine. I was just thinking," Steinamann replied, still lost in his thoughts.
"Well, classes are over. Wanna go out to have some coffee?" Steinmann nodded at they walked out of the big, grey room, leaving the day behind.
"Mister, what would you like?" The girl behind the counter asked impatiently.
"Oh, sorry," Larry mumbled. He had been lost in the fantasy of Tanya again. "I would like a Cheese bread, #6 hamburger, veggie salad, one chocolate ice-cream, one strawberry ice-cream, a jumbo cola, and a bottle of mineral water. Please."
"That's ten Marks, please." Larry fished out a ten dollar bill and handed it to the girl.
He whistled while carrying the tray piled with food, upstairs to find Tanya.
Tanya gazed at the streets. Her thoughts were filled with Larry. She had never met someone so fine. She couldn't understand what's wrong with the rest of the class avoiding him. He didn't seem like an alien to her! At least, he wasn't as freaky as the Krauser guy. Krauser seemed to be hitting on her, hard. But it was Larry she liked. His sexy blue eyes, the smile which makes you lose control, his fine features, and most of all, he wasn't dumb, even though he's a blond. She used to think all blondes are bimbo. I guess I was wrong. Ha ha! Larry changed it all for her, all in a two hours chat.
If only she knew what she'd done for Larry.
