Link is HERE JANUARY 2, 2008: AN UPDATE, OPEN LETTER, AND INFO This is an effort to reply to the numerous comments, questions, and accusations that have been made surrounding the current lawsuit against Lorraine Warren, Gerald Brittle, and their associates by Carl and David Glatzel. It appears a great deal of misinformation, along with an attempt to discredit our intentions, has been spread on the Internet which we would like to have an opportunity to respond to. Of course, seeing there is a lawsuit in motion, there are certain things that cannot be revealed at this time, but we feel some clarifications are in order as well as updating those who are interested in this story, regardless of your position or feelings on the matter. This is also an opportunity to address those who choose on their own accord to be our enemies instead of allies. Newspapers and reporters contacted us and the results are the few articles that can be found here. Of all the mail we received, about 75% of it was for people supporting us, about 15% of people threatening and insulting us, and about 10% telling us we were winners of the National UK Microsoft Lottery. The first thing we would like to address is misunderstanding forged by people who either cannot read or do not understand the law. Many have taken the stance, for whatever reason, that this is a case of the �The Atheist VS. The Believer.� The comments recently made by head members of IAMHAUNTED and the THREE PARAMIGOS radio show demonstrate not only a lack of understanding for the facts, but unfortunately show they have taken a firm stance on the validity of the story without the slightest bit of research. Already, we are off to a rather poor start for people who claim to be investigators or authorities on the subject matter. When Carl and David�s story first broke, we were approached by Steve LeChance of PARAMIGOS and he kindly asked us for an interview. We declined at the time for both legal and personal reasons (such as not wanting to get dragged into foolish mud slinging debates we knew we could expect) but we were asked to visit the IAMHAUNTED community, which we appreciated and did so. I personally enjoyed reading the forums. Without ever posting a single word, the first message I received from the friendly hosts was from Mr. Ken Deel, the Demonologist, who told us (spelling his): As I see groups like you are pouring in now from Conn. Area. DevilBustCT, Crowfeather, now CreepyCT. This is a warning to say for you, don't take this troll campaign here and start abusing IAH for your rants and raves. You don't believe in demons. Fine! You opinion. You don't like the Warrens fine! Keep you family agruments out of here also. Or you will be removed and BANNED! But keep it to yourself. TROLLS are NOT ALLOWED HERE on IAH period. we dealt with Kentucky trolls before, all I have to say is 'OK' you made you point. Now Drop it!' To all of you, Please, No more posted related to this. So I politely replied: Dear Ken, I can totally respect that. I am not here to start trouble and never was. Regardless of things your guests have falsely accused me of and you readily accept, I only post ONE place where my views are welcome and respected, even if they don't agree, and here is obviously not one of them. I can understand your weariness for people starting trouble and using your site for the things you mentioned (like your radio guests did). However, I have not, and did not plan on doing any such thing, and I felt your accusations were unfair, especially seeing you took no effort whatsoever to hear the other side of a story you have no interest in hearing. I was simply browsing, and it was Steve who originally invited me here and asked if we were interested in being guests on PARAMIGOS, which we declined at the moment, (unlike some others who hopped at the chance to use your show to smear us instead with untruths and lies that I choose to simply ignore because it is obvious you have already taken sides. Just because your experiences may be real and authentic does not mean they are automatically real and authentic for everyone else). I appreciate the time you took to reply. After I see you got this message I will simply cancel my account and register under my name if I choose to (and you still allow me to) contribute. I am neither a skeptic, nor an atheist, nor a hateful troll, just someone telling the truth with the undeniable evidence to back it up and happens to enjoy browsing your website and forum. Looking at Mr. Deel�s credentials, which were rather vague, it appears he is promoting his own book, so the first thing I wondered was why the double standard. Then I took the time to listen to the interviews they held with author Gerald Brittle and Debbie and Alan Glatzel on PARAMIGOS radio, and due to the nature of their discussions, we feel obliged to set the truth straight and counter the lies, slander, and accusations made by not only the guests, but supported by Mr. Deel. While we respect every one�s right to their opinion, we would like to comment on some of the comments made by the PARAMIGOS hosts and their guests. Author Gerald Brittle contradicted not only Ed and Lorraine Warren, but himself as well during his interview. His recollection of the night Arne Johnson murdered Alan Bono not only contradicts his own book, but can be proven to be untrue by simply researching the police report and the trial transcription. Of course, he is simply trying to hype his own book (like he did with the story about the book being withdrawn and destroyed by lawyers for in the Catholic Church, when in fact, as documents will prove, they were removed, like many others books are, for lack of sales. No bookstore will waste their space on books that don�t sell). We are expected to believe that hyping a book that supports the paranormal is acceptable and noble, but attempting to hype a book that tells the truth which does not conform to the beliefs of the paranormal is �atheism,� �money grubbing,� and �trying to cash in.� Have we forgotten that The Devil in Connecticut only exists because an innocent man was murdered? Again the double standard seems to only suit the �believers.� Mr. Brittle then goes on to describe young David Glatzel, an overweight eleven year old with a questionable disability, as �a big Dumbo.� How professional and respectful of him, considering he has made tens of thousands of dollars off of this innocent child by exploiting him to the fullest extent of the imagination. David Glatzel�s reply to Gerald�s uncalled insult was simply to smile and shake his head and say, �We�ll see who the big Dumbo is when this is all over.� I personally find Mr. Brittle�s statement deplorable. Then Debbie (Glatzel) Johnson and Alan Glatzel, after releasing the reality of the lawsuit, were guests on the PARAMIGOS radio show where they rattled off lie after lie that was greedily devoured with �oohs� and �ahhs� by their hosts. Beside the fabrications made in the telling of the story, we would like to address the following statements. First we wre easily shrugged off as being athiests. How do they know we are Atheists? Simply because we don�t believe the Devil was in Connecticut? Would it shock you to know that neither of us are Atheists, and in fact are working with people within the Roman Catholic religion who share the same enthusiasm as we do to put this charade to an end? This is not about whether or not the Devil exists. It is about where he didn�t. Alan Glatzel said �My brother Carl has filed a lawsuit against Lorraine Warren on no grounds whatsoever.� Not true. Carl Jr. and David Glatzel filed the lawsuit. I find it odd that neither Debbie nor Alan, nor the hosts, mentioned that David is an equal partner in the lawsuit. Was that because it hurts their credibility? The grounds for the lawsuit are available to the public and are numerous, and they have nothing to do with �Atheism or the Devil.� It is about the law. As I have said before, even if Beelzebub existed in Brookfield in 1980 and lounged around in lawn and rocking chairs and played with toy dinosaurs like Brittle contends, what gives ANYONE the right to publish it without the chief characters consent? Many people ask, �Why wait 27 years to file a lawsuit?� Nobody waited 27 years. Carl and David, although having lived with the fallout for decades had just about put it behind them before Gerald Brittle, Lorraine Warren, and Arne and Debbie Johnson decided to republish the book without anyone�s consent or knowledge. On top of that, they were making deals with Hollywood to have the story made into a motion picture. Debbie Johnson did all this without consulting neither her brothers nor her parents, who are all characters in the book, yet assured everyone she �spoke for the Glatzel family.� The rest of her family, save for Alan, have ceased to speak with her, her own mother stating, �What she did behind our backs was totally wrong.� To show you how Hollywood works, James E. Malloy of Malloy Media Group in partnership with Seth Wimmer and Joshua Smith of Smith Wimmer CG have tried for over a year to get their film version of The Devil in Connecticut green-lighted. Mr. Malloy tried every thing possible to get the family�s life rights to do the movie, including attempting to start a side partnership with Carl Jr. and myself with the promise of telling our version of the story after making TDICT. He even asked if Carl would consider putting up $200,000.00 to help secure the film. Of course, we were simply being stalled and ultimately Carl was sent a threatening email by James and his partners that stated if we continued towards our goals they would be sure to tell every publisher and agent they knew that our story �Alone Through the Valley� was tainted and came with baggage that no one would ever touch. Carl repeatedly told them there would be no Devil in Connecticut movie, yet they tried to say that the movie would be needed in order to make our �debunking� story more sellable. They just didn�t get the message; is very simple and clear: THERE WILL BE NO DEVIL IN CONNECTICUT MOVIE. Carl and David do not wish to be exploited any further and it boggles the mind to think that people don�t understand this. Hollywood truly does not do honest business. Anybody that says Carl and David are doing this for the money should note they turned down guaranteed millions (even if it flopped) by making sure this film was never made. Malloy Media Group in partnership offered 10% plus royalities if they would sign so they could secure talent names like John Goodrich and Gene Hackman for the film. If money was their goal, they would have just signed and played along. Instead they chose to tell the truth with no guarentee of a cent. Those that claim this to be a get rich scheme seem to ignore these facts. Alan and Debbie then go on to discuss me, and start by giving my profession and location, and go on to say that I have posted about this topic on �numerous blogs and forums.� Another lie. I have never posted a single blog in my life (I challenge you to find one) and I post regularly only at one forum. They go on to say that I have �gone as far to steal family heirlooms.� Stolen family heirlooms? Such as? Let�s look at the facts. If someone takes something from their legal residence (never mind something sitting there for 27 years) it is not stealing. Carl took photos and tapes from HIS residence, let me borrow them so I could digitalize them, and then I promptly returned them. Nothing was destroyed. In fact, the items he speaks of are now safely back where they sat collecting dust for decades. Unfortunately, Alan is no longer welcome in that house so he would have no way of knowing that. Note to all, when you have such monumental evidence that �proves beyond doubt the existence of the personification of evil,� I suggest you take a little better care of it then they did. Incidentally, the �possession photos,� and the numerous tapes of �David under possession,� have been carefully analyzed by me and others whose opinion is far more educated than mine. This �evidence� clearly demonstrates there is nothing of a paranormal nature occurring. There is no speaking in tongues, no Latin, no prophecies, and nothing to suggest an intelligence other than a eleven year old boy. In fact, one psychologist who listened to all the tapes found it to be a �sad display of child abuse.� The photos are more of the same. Disturbing indeed, but not because of demonic forces. A famous claim is that David predicted the murder and they have it on tape. Well, again a challenge: where is it? It does not exist. They will probably say that I �took it,� but that doesn�t say much for Ed and Lorraine�s record keeping, now does it? Debbie asked, �Why does a magician always have to get involved?� I suppose she thinks one who studies deception, belief systems, psychology, legerdemain, body language, and the secretive histories of fraud and manipulation should be excluded from having a more informed opinion on claims of the paranormal then the average person. Ironically, my status as an amateur magician has nothing to do with this story or my interest in it. I am also a filmmaker, musician, and speaker, also things mentioned on my website you described. Why no mention of them? Being a magician does not make any one more qualified to judge another, it simply helps make a more rational and informed decision. They go on to say about me, �this person has divided our family.� I am not responsible for dividing their family. The family has sadly been divided for many years before I even met Carl. I understand their need to use me as a scapegoat, so to be honest I am not surprised. I am in the business of helping families, not dividing them. If they wish to place the blame on one person, I suggest starting with the people who chose to revive this when it should have remained dead and buried. In case some have overlooked a few strange coincidences, we offer you a few things to consider� Why didn�t anyone on the PARAMIGOS radio show mention that David Glatzel is an equal partner in the lawsuit? (By the way, does it matter to anyone that he admits he was not possessed?) Why didn�t anyone on the PARAMIGOS radio show mention the Arne Johnson murdered Alan Bono? Why wasn�t that even brought to the attention of their listeners (just as it wasn�t for the Discovery Channel Special)? Isn�t it rather peculiar the murder was committed on February 16, 1981 and a book contract was signed on March 3rd, a mere fifteen days later? Even more peculiar is that they were able to keep this information from both the prosecutors and the public throughout the trial. How ironic it is to be accused of trying to �make money from a tragedy,� from people who made money from a tragedy. Out of fifty years of research and over 3,000 cases, wouldn�t the Warrens have some sort of proof? They claim to have it. Lorraine claims to have proof David Glatzel was possessed. Well, an open challenge to Mrs. Warren. Where is it? Witnesses mentioned in the book told us this past summer, �We didn�t even know our names were used in the book. We never saw anything, only what Debbie and Judy told us.� Contrary to the philosophy of Ken Deel, the Roman Catholic Church has repeatedly stated they have no affiliation or connection with Ed and Lorraine Warren or any their �students.� Monsignor Doyle of the Arch Dioceses of Bridgeport recently told me in an interview, �Let�s face it, the Warrens have made a career out of this, but the clergy knows they are less than credible and cannot be taken seriously.� He also stated that �No exorcism was ever sanctioned for David Glatzel and those priests who were involved with the Warrens worked to the dismay and embarrassment of their Bishop against his wishes.� As far as a �paranormal community,� I suggest those interested be very weary of IAMHAUNTED.COM. They take sides without collecting any evidence, they allow their guests to slander others that threaten and warn others not to do it, and they censor and edit what they see fit to suit their needs. Then to top it off, they have the audacity to ask for a donation! I had hoped an intelligent conversation with Mr. LaChance and Mr. Deel would be possible, but it is clear from hearing their radio show that it is unlikely to ever happen. In my opinion, they follow in the ranks of GHOST STUDY, another slanted forum where only one tracked minds are allowed. With this type of moderation, I doubt IAMHAUNTED has much of a future. Joseph Lamperelli of the Brookfield police department, who was on the scene the night of the murder said during a lengthy interview. �We knew right away what was going on, but we couldn�t speak to young Carl because his parents wouldn�t allow it. Arne killed that man out of jealousy. The whole demon thing was the Warrens way of getting in the paper and they just used the family for their own gain.� The head detective who investigated the murder at the time echoed the same story, adding, �It�s a shame what they did to all of you. You have every right to take it back, Carl.� With that he gave Carl over three hundred newspaper articles about the �demon murder case� from around the world that his secretaries had collected for almost thirty years. �You can have them, they�re yours now. Good luck.� Here is small sampling from some of the email we get: �I am so glad to see that not only are you healing, but you are seeking justice for the horrible wrongs done to you. It is sad remembering how much the occult had been manipulated into something evil for profit and it is even worse that people got swept away with that tide. My family had it's own touch of that but nothing as terrible as what you must have endured for so long. Go in peace and know that the truth is coming out and you will be vindicated.� �Many years ago I had the opportunity to see the Warren's in a presentation. They were telling untruths, were twisting reality, and were leading people to see things in photographs that was" like looking at the clouds and asking if you could see a specific image." I knew then at a very young age that these people were charlatans. Good luck to you, I hope you win millions. These two charlatans have fooled, and taken advantage, both mentally and in dollars, of many many people. Tell me where to buy your book. It will be a pleasure to help fight phonies such as these two.� �It is about time someone did something about Ed and Lorraine Warren. It is horrible for a child with mental health problems and their entire family (& friends etc etc) to be abused and exploited in this manner. Re making money off the case -- well, if the Warrens have indeed made millions, then why shouldn't family members who were destroyed by the Warrens' exploitation recover some of that money? After you have taken care of your own family and descedants, I hope you will contribute some of the funds hopefully obtained in your suit to trustworthy organizations that fight the stigma of mental illness and those that provide prevention and treatment services for children. The Warrens are a couple of fruits and the defense in that murder case were sheer nonsense. We have done our homework, have our evidence, and know what is right. For all those people who threaten, curse, and insult us, how dumb will you look when the truth comes out?� I quote David Glatzel �Ed and Lorraine told me I was possessed, so I fed into it. They told me how to act so I acted that way. I wanted attention and I got it, but it wasn�t possession,� or even more straight to the point, �Chey killed that guy, plain and simple.� On a personal note, I offered (and still offer) my sincere condolences for the sad loss of Jason Glatzel. I had the privilege to speak with Jason on several occasions. The mean spirited lies told about Carl Jr. the night of Jason�s funeral by Alan and Debbie are just another slanderous attempt to discredit him. I will not go into the ugly details out of respect, but I will say this. Jason gave Carl Jr. his MySpace password when he was visiting this past summer. He was showing Carl how easy and convenient MySpace was. When Jason passed away, his grandparents (the ones who raised him, as Judy Glatzel said �We raised Jason since he was twenty four hours old. Everyone who knows us knows that" asked ME to collect the pictures of his website and delete his account, and Carl gave me his password. Out of respect I did it, and I downloaded ALL of the pictures, burned them onto eight discs, and gave them to the Glatzel family. I made extras for Debbie, Arne, and Alan. I am not responsible if the Glatzel elders chose not to give them a copy. It is sad that such a tragedy had to be brought into this debate, especially because Jason had a unique outlook on what happened in 1980. I meant no malice or ill will when I did what was requested of me by others who loved Jason. In closing, let it be said once again that this endeavor was not born from hate, revenge, money, or any of the other reasons we have been accused of. It is simply to tell the truth. An important truth. A truth I myself was skeptical of until I saw, as you all shall see, the evidence that proves otherwise. If you don�t want to know the truth, don�t read it. It�s that simple. While others make threats hiding behind screen names and microphones and attempt illegal maneuvers and scare tactics to dissuade us, you only strengthen our cause and really make us wonder, what is it you don�t want the world to know if you have nothing to hide? It is sad that the parties involved could not be all on the same page for the right reasons. I choose to make friends, not enemies, and thus far I have made many friends and a few others have chosen to consider me an enemy. Well, I guess that it something I have to live with, but I believe the cause is worthwhile. Thanks to all that continue to give their support.
