Starting on the Rear

Starting the Rear End

After you have jacked up the rear, removed the rear tires, and secured it with jack stands, you can easily see what will be involved in your install. More leaves for your leaf springs, and longer shackles will comprise the rear lift.

Remove the rear bump-stops, as in the picture above, then remove the axle u-bolts. You will also have to remove the shocks. Jack up the axle so that the leaf springs are hanging by themselves. Note that there are three bolts holding the leaf springs to the frame - 1 front pivot bolt, and two rear shackle bolts. You can remove all of these now.
